I visited this tattoo parlour a decade ago for a matching wrist tattoo with my partner, and not knowing much about tattoos - trusted the male artist. Well. Instead of printing a stencil or drawing the design first, he thought he could freestyle the line work on my skin. He created a wonky line and went over it to ‘straighten it up’ (which didn’t hide his mistake) and I had the most mediocre piece now permanent on my body. It was also to be the size of a 50c piece but instead was drawn much larger and takes up my entire wrist with thick unsightly lines. It’s taken thousands of dollars and years to remove most of it. Go anywhere. I will always be unhappy that I was young and allowed him to get away with that. By the looks of things, their ability as artists hasn’t improved. There needs to be more respect for people’s bodies, we are not your sketching pads for fun.
Over 10 years ago, I got a tattoo. Unfortunately, it wasn’t done well and only got worse over time. I tried to get it covered up, but kept running into unhelpful artists and designs that just didn’t feel right. Then my husband found Vic Market Tattoo and Wade Johnston. From the very start, Wade made me feel comfortable and hopeful—I could tell he already had a great vision in mind. Wade, you’re an amazing artist. Thank you! I absolutely love the result, and I’m sure I’ll be back again.
Travelling from Sydney to Melbourne for a weekend and looking to get ink done was made super easy at Vic Market Tattoo. Everything from the website info, instagram and then enquiring, booking and overall communication, it was a breeze. Lewis accomodated our bookings so easily and then worked on my design, Noodz worked on my wife's and everything turned out greater than could of hoped. 100% would recommend both artists in a second to anyone and looking forward to hopefully getting more ink done.
went here with my sister to get our first tattoo each. our parents had also gotten tattoos at this place over 20 years ago so we have history here. the artists were really friendly and very talented and made the process very easy for a good price too. if you’re thinking about getting a tattoo i highly recommend getting it done at Vic Market Tattoo.
Absolutely brilliant. My partner and I both got our first tattoos this week and we couldn't be happier. Big shout out to Jimmy, whose work is impeccable. He was brilliant and friendly and very understanding of my nerves. The whole team there are lovely and friendly and the shop is has a great vibe. Pablo and Lewis were great too, happy to chat and super knowledgeable. If you're in the market for a tattoo. Don't go past the guys at Vic Market Tattoo. We will be back!
