I brought my cat to VRCC seeking a second opinion from internal medicine during an incredibly difficult time. I was not looking for unrealistic hope. I had already accepted that her condition might be terminal. What I was hoping for was a fresh perspective and compassionate communication about where she was at medically. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling unheard and emotionally unsupported. I was told very bluntly that nothing could be done. While I understand that this may have been medically accurate, the delivery lacked sensitivity. I felt assumptions were made about my intentions rather than listening to what I was actually asking, which was simply for clarity and reassurance during an overwhelming moment. I respect the medical expertise involved, and I know these conversations are difficult. However, kindness and empathy matter deeply when families are facing end-of-life decisions. I left feeling judged and alone at a time when I needed compassion most. My cat meant everything to me. I did everything I could for her, and I wish this experience had felt more supportive for both of us during her final days. I hope this feedback helps improve communication for others going through similar heartbreak.
Our 4 1/2 yr old kitty was in respiratory distress and could not breathe. we called ahead and the VRCC was ready and took out kitty from half-dead to all better within 24 hrs. we left him overnight in an oxygen tent there at VRCC. The doctor's and Staff were so awesome, wIth positive communication about diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options. I feel like if we didn't go to the VRCC, our kitty would not have survived. Thank ALL of you at VRCC for such awesome specialty care, professionalism and caring.
On a regular checkup with my little girl, Asahi, our vet detected a heart murmur. We were scared and unsure what this could mean. Our primary vet and a wonderful traveling imaging doctor referred us to Dr. Martin for cardiology, and we are so thankful they did. Dr. Martin and vet tech Bryan were absolutely incredible.. so kind, compassionate, and truly skilled at what they do. We were blessed with good news overall, but even beyond that, the care and empathy we received at this clinic were phenomenal. They treated Asahi like their own and made us feel genuinely seen and supported. If you need a specialty cardiology appointment, especially if you’re coming from southern Colorado where options are limited, make the trip to Englewood. It’s absolutely worth it. You and your pet will be in the best hands possible.
I have previously been here with one of my dogs earlier this year. We unfortunately had to put her down at the time. I didn't get a chance to say, that besides the unfortunate circumstances, I was met with very caring, professional and compassionate staff. The vet at the time was very honest and forward with my dogs condition and equally sensitive to our situation. The front staff was also very kind when helping us set up the cremation services as well as other memorial items. We got my girls ashes back in less than a week. Like I said, very caring and compassionate staff all around. Today I brought in another of my dogs. We fortunately were able to bring him back home with us and is stable. Our visit consisted of lab work, x-rays and ultrasound to determine any health issues (luckily nothing outstanding) once again, as I have said multiple times during my review, vet was super caring, thorough and compassionate and so was any other staff we spoke to. Vet care can be pricey, our visit cost ended up being $1400 with medication but we are at peace that our pup does not have any major issues which is priceless in the end. Thankful that this facility exists 🙂
During your worst times VRCC is there to bring you the quality service you would expect from an emergency clinic. I have been there multiple times with my beloved animals and once brought a dog that I witnessed being hit by a truck. They are not only compassionate and knowledgeable, but they go out of their way to ensure you are informed of everything that is going on throughout the extent of your visit and hospitalization. Even when the outcome is very grim, they seem to care a lot about you and your pets, during the process and afterwards. I feel fortunate to live in close proximity so they have become my go-to veterinary specialists for all emergencies with my animals. Thank you for sending our Margarita over the rainbow bridge with love, dignity, kindness, and compassion.
