Libby at Wavelength Salon was truly such a joy to work with! From the moment I walked in, she was so open and receptive to the inspo collage I brought for the new color and cut I wanted for an upcoming event. She absolutely nailed it — the honey golden blonde/light brown came out exactly how I envisioned, and the fresh cut she created feels so light, modern, and highlights my natural features. Beyond her talent, Libby is genuinely one of the sweetest humans. She’s collaborative, attentive, and really takes the time to understand the client’s vision while adding her expertise in such an aligned, thoughtful way. I cannot wait to work with her again, and I highly recommend her — and the entire Wavelength Salon team — to anyone looking for an elevated and intentional hair experience.
This is the second time Libby has done my hair and once again it was excellent!! I could not recommend her more! She takes her time, and makes sure your hair is exactly what how you want. She gave me a trim, long layers, and curtain bangs. She taught me how to style it and was so kind throughout the entire process. Libby also fit me in last minute which is so appreciated! I cannot wait to go back and see her.
A wonderful salon. 5 stars. Great location (Ninth Street). Make a day of it: Starbucks next door, midday lunch (so many choices on Ninth Street!), late afternoon haircut, then finish with takeout for dinner at home. I am “high maintenance” re: hair. I moved to Durham from SF CA in June 2025. I had the same stylist in SF for over 30 years, and I admit it: finding a new stylist here was almost as important to me as finding a new church. I struck gold with Wavelengths. I believe in building a relationship with my stylist. Paula is WONDERFUL. She took one look at me and immediately saw how my SF stylist approached my hair. She is high-energy but not pushy. Paula listens to her clients and works with them. And she is also great at eyebrow contouring. In summary, I found a new home for my hair. Check them out, you’ll love them.
OMG I LOVE MY HAIR LIKE THEY HELPED FIX IT SURE IT WAS WAY TO PINK BUT NOW OMG IM OBSSESED MY BOYFRIEND LOVES IT AND I DO TOO ITS LOWKEY PERFECT THEY SAW I WASNR HAPPY AT FIRST AND OFFER TO FIX IT I LOVE IT low key obsessed will definitely go back maybe get a haircut next time
I’ve been going to Wavelengths for like ten years now, but it wasn’t my only salon (in fact its pretty far away from me so I didnt go often!) until the woman who would become my current stylist started working there. Natalie is such a sweet, kind, gentle person and an amazing talent. She’s a great listener and always does her best to make whatever stupid idea I have for my hair a reality—and she’s really good at it! I’ve had vivid colors, blonding, blowouts, she does everything!
