Winnipeg Art Gallery, situé au 300 Memorial Blvd à Winnipeg, est un musée et une galerie d'art de premier plan, connue pour l'art autochtone canadien et des expositions notables. La collection a été saluée pour sa nature compacte tout en restant très intéressante, avec des points forts tels que les œuvres majeures d'Abraham Anghik Ruben et des événements comme les concerts Candlelight. Le lieu dispose d'un petit café, d'une boutique de cadeaux et d'un nombre limité de places de stationnement dans la rue à proximité, offrant une expérience culturelle accueillante.

At the WAG, I saw an incredible, breathtaking exhibit of the life works of Abraham Anghik Ruben in Nov 2025. Absolutely unforgettable works of art, and beautifully curated. My advice to anyone is to go to WAG and see this exhibit while you can.
I was there for an unveiling of a Red Dress tribute to the MMIWG2S movement. The location of rhe event and the space were more than sufficient for what it was needed for. Washroom was clean and easily accessible. The only reason I gave it this low of a rating is because they had a wedding event going on as well, and we were asked to leave by the side or back entrance. 😳 Seriously!?! So when you walk in the front entrance, you end up walking through the back of the seating area designated for the wedding guests and party. I felt like I was crashing a wedding. Not how I would want my wedding day to be remembered by. As a bride, I would have been upset and embarrassed to have to share my wedding space with another event being held in the same building like that. Surely there has to be a better way so that both events are able to be kept separate from each other, as to avoid disruption of a speech or special dance, which both events had. The sound could be heard on both sides. Unacceptable.
small painting collection with some gems. superlative indiginous Canadian sculptures and a fantastic gift shop. The small cafe has excellent food and super-friendly staff!!!
The Winnipeg Art gallery is well worth the hour or two visit needed to check out its collection. The indigenous collection is just fantastic and I love the works that they presented. The permanent collection is small but very very interesting. Parking is limited but you can find some spots on the street. Dropping by on a Thursday afternoon felt like a private visit. I don't think you'll find a better variety and number of soapstone carvings anywhere else in the world.
We attended the Candlelight concert in Winnipeg twice, and both experiences were absolutely wonderful. The music was performed with so much passion and elegance that it created a truly magical and romantic atmosphere. The candlelit setting made everything feel warm and unforgettable. It's definitely an event we would love to experience again.
