Overall unpleasant experience at the store. This review is based on two consecutive visits within two days. First and most important thing to note if visiting the store: READ ALL THE SIGNS THEY HAVE HANGING EVERYWHERE. I cannot stress this enough; the store will not apply any exception to their "Absolutely NO returns and NO exchanges". More about this later. Second thing I noticed is young lady at the counter is only there to hand you whatever you ask for and you'll be lucky if it's done without an attitude. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired; I arrived asking for help reading a digitalized version of a low-voltage circuit I needed components for, I provided all the info I could part numbers, resistor and capacitor values however, the young lady at the counter did not show any effort to even look at the image I was handing her. So as a customer I felt left on my own. Then I asked for a switch, so she pointed me in the direction of where I could find them. Here's where I encounter my next problem, all the nomenclature is not intuitive for any inexperienced customer, so I asked for help stating specifically I did not know how to read the nomenclature. I asked exactly what I needed, which was "A momentary SPST Normally Closed metal switch" and she handed me what looked like the switch I needed. The switch was wrong, the function of the switch I was handed was inverted, meaning it was a Momentary SPST Normally OPEN, which is useless to me. This became a problem the next day because I went and asked for an exchange, to which the employee at the counter got the manager (a short, tucked in, vintage attire wearing, comb-over middle aged man with glasses) and the first thing I got was not a greeting. "This is correct, the box reads what its in here, we cannot do an exchange" in quite a condescending attitude. He then went ahead and handed me over the wrong switch saying "This is yours" followed by him handing me the switch that I was supposed to be handed IN THE FIRST PLACE THE DAY BEFORE and saying, "Here's the one you need if you want to purchase it. We cannot do anything that's why we have signs that say this hanging everywhere", again, very condescending. Note, that I consider myself a very passive customer and I always provide the benefit of the doubt to everyone, however this experience was very uncomfortable since the beginning. And I'm sure anyone who would've witnessed these interactions would back me up. By the way, that first day I went, there was an old man asking for help as well, nobody was interested in helping him either. So unless you already know EXACTLY what you need to buy, don't bother asking for help, it will cost you more. Additionally, that first day I overheard the employee at the counter saying something like "we try to keep our prices low for our customers, unlike the other places". This is a very deceiving statement because there are no prices displayed anywhere, every time I asked for a price, the employee at the counter had to look it up on an iPad. That famous switch I mentioned is model number #30-14450 and it was priced at over $21.18 before tax. That is $7.22 more expensive than the regular price at the Intertex electronics website for this same part number. Here's some advice for people interested in visiting Zarco Electronic Supply: Just buy your electronics somewhere else online and pay for shipping, if they even charge for shipping. Even many of the online stores will return or exchange with no questions asked. Finally, their "Minimum cash purchase of $5 and for card $15" is the last unpleasant detail of my experience. Good luck if you're just there for a couple of resistors.
Customer service was spectacular. I needed help with a resistor and I had no idea what I really needed, and they knew exactly what to ask. I stopped by store and was amazed how neat and organized products were. I would highly recommend them for any electronics need.
