Sonte of “A Touch of Te Hair Salon” is absolutely amazing. From the moment I sat in her chair, she truly listened to my concerns and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted. Her goal was clearly my satisfaction, and she went above and beyond to ensure I received the look I envisioned. I have fine natural hair, which can be challenging when trying to achieve a polished, salon-perfect look, but Shante knew exactly what to do. Shante is professional, hardworking, and incredibly efficient. My service was prompt, and the entire experience was smooth and stress-free. It’s rare to find a stylist who not only has the skill but also genuinely cares about her clients and cares about the health of hair. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for great service and beautiful results.
I reached out to Shonte', owner of A Touch of Te' Hair Studio because I was in dire need of a professional who knew exactly what to do with my post menopausal hair situation. I showed her a picture of my hairstyle prior to so she'd have an idea of what I liked. She told me what to bring to my appointment and I knew I was in good hands. To say she SLAYED my style, is an understatement! I am already looking forward to my next appointment 😊 Book your next hair appointment with Shonte' and I promise she will master whatever style you want.
I gave 2 stars because even tho it didnt look anything like the picture I showed, the style came out cute, but the journey to get this pixie quick weave was not. This shop is definitely focused on aesthetics and not hair retention or health. My appointment was at 4, I arrived at 3:50, I didn't get into the chair until 4:40 and didn't leave until 10:30 pm. A lady was sitting in her chair with her hair 1/3 of the way complete when I arrived, another 2 ladies arrived during my appointment. She basically triple booked my time. I have short 4C hair. I wish I would have read the reviews because this shop IS NOT 4C friendly. The stylist asked me if she could shave my hair in order to get the style to lay flat???? I told her no, I want to grow my hair. I know it's possible to lay my hair flat because I see barbers do it all the time with their male clients to give them waves. This was definitely a lack of skill issue with the stylist. She said she prefers doing this style on women with alopecia or relaxed hair. She ended up roughly washing my hair and then roughly combed gel though my coils to get it to lay flat. I may end up having alopecia. She shaved the back of my neck, and I was okay with that, but then started to shave my edges, IN THE FRONT!!! I stopped her, but it was too late, she already shaved off one side. Her excuse was it wouldn't blend, again, lack of skill because you can lay 4C edges. The stylist lacks accountability and tried to blame the style, a QUICK weave for the duration of me being there instead of the fact that she triple booked the time slot and left to pick up one of her children from somewhere. She then charged me 200 dollars. I didn't argue, just paid it. God got me! Insha Allalh my hair isnt damaged, but I don't have much faith that it isn't. I'll come back and leave a review when I take this down.
Dissatisfied, the settings is like walking into a prison. You heard of sheep in wolves clothing. Easy to get lost. The wait took over 8 hours! One stylist juggling between 4 customers and talking behind her own assistants back in a negative way! Never going back there! Over charged to help pay the booth rent that she shared she was in arears on. Terrible experience. I accept your apology. I only hope it is genuine.
Overall I enjoyed my experience. She was such a vibe and professional with a nice set up. She worked on three of us simultaneously. She was flexible and squeezed me in. I camped molded down I didn’t know I still have to be washed. She did wash and blow dry me. My hairs was chopped due to cutting my locs off so wasn’t much to work with but she did allow me to go to hair store to add hair. My inspiration was the black shirt and blue was the finished product. I was a little disappointed I didn’t get closer to this style but she did say the hair I bought wasn’t all human Because it wouldn’t hold a curl but I thought it was human because that’s what the back said. I’ve been locked a while. Maybe I should have asked what’s best. My style was 165 which shocked me but I always respect a stylist price and time but I definitely should have asked so that’s on me as well. I was there at 845 and didn’t leave until 12:25ish. I forgot how long it could take. I would go back again to try something new or maybe different hair could make the difference. Even nice area. I would have given 5 if it was closer to the style but she did what she could with what I had. Overall I’m satisfied. Gonna try to tweak it my self to spice it up like the picture. Update: Went back and it was still great vibes environment peaceful and good quality. I was able to communicate what I wanted and she understood and we came to great outcome. Thank you so much for patience, kindness, and skill. I love it. (Pink shirt)
