The food at Añejo was amazing and tasted very authentic. Everything was excellent except the Mexican rice, which unfortunately tasted undercooked. Overall though, the flavours were great. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth visiting.
We had Amanda as our server and she was great! We ordered fish, chicken, and pork tacos. Out of those, the pork carnitas were our favourite. Tableside guac was also very fun and a great bite before. We indulged in a couple margaritas - trying the Maui, mango, spicy coconut, and guava flavours. The Maui was the sweetest and yummy!! Thanks Amanda and Anejo!
First time coming here, came here for their Taco specials. We ordered a bunch of different tacos and they were pretty good. The tables are pretty small though if you come with only two people. I would ask for a bigger table if you order lots of food. Drinks are good. Parking can be a little bit of an issue but we found parking that day. Service was good. Need to come back to try some more items.
This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve tried in Edmonton so far! Their steak and guacamole are a must-try, and honestly, we keep coming back because their mango mocktail is just sooo good! But my last visit, the music, it was crazy loud! I could barely hear my partner, which made it feel less family-friendly than before. I remember seeing families with kids enjoying their meals here, so I really hope they turn the volume down a bit again.
I had such a great experience at Añejo tonight. My server, Andy, was amazing and I hope I’m spelling her name right because she deserves recognition. She had a smile on her face the whole time, gave wonderful service, and was so genuine that it made the evening even more enjoyable. I started with the House Salsa Tasting and swapped the salsa roja for extra black beans, which was a great choice. For my main, I had the quesabirria with a flour tortilla, and we also tried six tacos, three on flour and three on corn. The corn tortillas have a bit more flavour but fall apart a little easier. I tried the chicken, beef, and fish tacos, and I’d rate them an 8 out of 10. They’re even better with the sauces on the table. The quesabirria was rich, juicy. It was a little oily this time but still really good, so it didn’t matter much. It’s $28 for three tacos, which is a bit pricey, but the flavour and quality make it worth it. The guava margarita is my favourite drink here, although it can be a little sweet sometimes. The other cocktails were well made. Except, I tried the sangria tonight and sent it back. Definitely not my favourite. I was a little disappointed that happy hour now starts at 10 PM instead of 9 PM. However, the music, lighting, and overall vibe were perfect.
