Our crew of 7 were not impressed with our fishing trip. I know you are not guaranteed fish every time, but an all day trip of fishing you would expect more then 3 halibut. Took 2 hours 45 minutes to get to the location fished for a couple of hours and returned. Captain Dave was complaining about the deckhand which is uncalled for, if he needed more guidance he should have spoke to him privately. I felt Garrett (deckhand) did fine he gave tips on reeling fish in, tried to pay attention if our line was down to far. I would suggest that you ask questions before going out. Like how far out you go compared to how much you fish. JB

Me, family and friends took an exclusive Halibut charter on July 25, 2024. This was our 5th Halibut charter with Alaska Good Time Charters aboard Fool's Gold. Once again we weren't disappointed. Captain Dave and Zach were awesome, accommodating, very professional and very personable. Our entire group limited out and we also caught some Pacific Cod. Thanks again, Captain Dave and Zach for a great experience.

We had our anniversary trip with Alaska Good Time Charters and the trip was truly unforgettable! We spent five days on the boat with family, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. The food was out of this world, and the captain and deckhand were incredibly knowledgeable and eager to help. I suspect that the captain is Poseidon himself, with his deep understanding of the area, wildlife, and everything in between. The deckhand was kind and worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best experience possible. The crew truly made this experience next level. This charter was more than just fishing, although we certainly caught our fair share! We were treated to breathtaking views of glaciers, whales, porpoises, and stunning landscapes, all while enjoying delicious meals and coffee. Every moment was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. We cannot recommend Alaska Good Time Charters enough and will definitely be back for more. If you’re looking for an extraordinary adventure, this is it!

Absolutely fantastic time. Was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but very very happy that we went with them. Old captain that seemed to rub people the wrong way is gone and retired. Fools gold was our ship, and was in fine enough condition, head was clean, plenty of room for the people in and out. We had the pleasure of being with Capitan Dave C. and Deckhand/first mate Ash. The two of them really made the trip incredible. We went with a group size of 7 plus a baby, and they were both insanely accommodating to the little one, let us setup a pack and play in the berth, even checked in on her when we were out fishing and she was sleeping. Tons, and I mean tons, of great conversations, hysterics laughter, and learning a boat load about the area, the fish types, everything under the moon, honestly. Both of them gave clean and consice rules, what to do, where to be in the boat, showed us how to bait, where to land the catch. Very patient folks, and made this excursion top notch. If you want to go halibut fishing, and want to have a good time, go with them. You'd be making a mistake to go with anyone else. Tl;dr: Awesome crew, awesome fish, very nice and would never fish with anyone else given the choice. All limited out, every one of us, with some impressive catches.
