Absolutely love this place! My partner and I have been back 8-10 times since we discovered this place in 2025 and pretty much celebrate any special occasion or date night here. We keep coming back for the wonderful food cooked to perfection every single time. The chefs truly never miss. Within the small menu, the steak is always cooked perfectly medium rare and the sides are delicious and perfectly balanced. Our favourites include the rocket salad, curry sauce chips, and mushroom. We also recently enjoyed the new buratta salad and potato salads. We love the selection of wines on offer here too and enjoy the cocktails occasionally. Definitely recommend booking ahead for a table at the restaurant as the bar menu doesn’t have any of the items from the full menu. The atmosphere too is lovely with a live dj. The only bit that is a little disappointing is the poor customer service. We have had some nice servers but more times where they have not been so welcoming. This also extends to the front of house staff too and we generally are made to feel as though we are wasting their time. Aside from that, the quality and consistency of food and lively atmosphere is what keeps us coming back to Alfie’s.
I absolutely love going to Alfie’s! Three times and counting now. The steak is solid but I really come here for the sides (the brussels sprouts are out of this world) and the ice cold martinis. The burnt honey beef fat & salted chocolate crumble gelato popsicle is also a favourite. Top tip: happy hour (4-6pm) is a treat and amazing value for money (you can also get the popsicle off-menu during!). Service is friendly enough, pretty standard. The atmosphere is casual; a bit chic and vibey. I usually try to avoid going to places more than once as there is a smorgasbord of excellent food to try in Sydney, but Alfie’s is a special exception.
The concept is nice similar to their other restaurants Bistecca and Gidley, but the steak was disappointing. The sirloin felt tough and sinewy, and if they hadn't precut slices it would have been a disaster. The mushroom and beans sides were good. The cauliflower was just charred but not cooked at all. Chips were good. Overall we were not totally let down, but this is one where i might not return.
We had a lovely dinner here last night. The steaks and side dishes were delicious, the waitresses and waiters were attentive and friendly. During our meal, a guy at a nearby table suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. A young doctor at our table, who’d just arrived with his girlfriend in Sydney from Tokyo for a holiday, immediately rushed over, providing first aid. He supported the guy’s head and airway, staying with him until emergency help arrived. The restaurant staff also handled the situation with composure and care. It was a deeply moving moment to witness such kindness and humanity. An unforgettable evening. Highly recommended.
Spectacular restaurant. The place to go if you just want steak, with exceptional sides. The Brussels sprouts are a standout. The wine by the glass menu is better than it should be. Desserts was great, as was the desert wine. Very interesting wines on the list. Full of flavour. The steak itself is very good quality, and a bargain for the quality your getting. You could come here and spend $50 and get a fantastic steak - in and out fast, perfect for a lunch break or pre theatre, or use the steak as a base to explore the frills of a steak restaurant and spend some big bucks. It's also just nice to see a new concept roll out.
