Sadly, I am quite disappointed with my experience here. I’ve been shopping at ambiance for so many years, so much so that I was always greeted by my first name. Back then, Everyone knew me as well as my style and would provide honest feedback as to what looked good or not much on me, which I greatly appreciated. I can’t say the same this time around. I was visiting sf since my move and went in to buy a pair of jeans to wear over my leggings since it was so cold. The stylist who helped seemed to be more rushed or fast paced and gave me a pair of jeans, which at the time did fit over my leggings and winter boots I was wearing. But when I returned home, I noticed that the inseem of one pant leg twists to the front and none of my ankle boots work with the jeans. It looks very masculine and fits more like a straight jean on the looser side. I double checked the website to see the fit in the model and it is completely different than what I purchased. I called the store asking for styling advice and the person I spoke mentioned it could be the wrong in seem and suggested it may need to be hemmed and can be worn with doc martens, which I don’t wear (not my style) So, $130 later I’m stuck with a pair of masculine looking, awkward jeans that I won’t be wearing. Ambiance used to be my favorite boutique. But sadly, not so much anymore. I’m very disappointed.
Cute store with big selection - staff was very friendly and helpful! Excited to know about this place for future outfit or gift needs in the neighborhood.
Clothing was beautiful, staff was absurdly unkind. I asked a question about a piece that was placed near a sale rack, and the employee I asked proceeded to make fun of me for asking for more than 2 minutes strait. She just kept going. She laughed at me for asking about an item, and loudly made derogatory remarks regarding the fact I was shopping the on sale section. It was like my worst retail nightmare come true. I was in tears by the time she finished making fun of me and had to leave out of embarrassment and the fact that I didn’t want to support a business run by hateful people. Their merchandise is nice but I would recommend supporting somewhere that deserves support. Genuinely this is the worst retail experience I’ve ever had. She was just so mean and degrading.
We stopped in the store to browse on a whim. We asked for help identifying the sale section of the store from who seemed to be a manager or owner. She proceeded to belittle my girlfriend for not knowing which section was which with their confusing signage. We will not be supporting a business ran by rude snobby people.
