I attempted to cancel my Anytime Fitness Cathcart membership/trial in writing on Nov 25, 2025 after repeated phone calls with no answer (of course within the timeframe of my contract). Despite that written cancellation request (and follow-ups on Jan 11 and Jan 23, 2026), my AMEX was still charged $32.14 on Jan 1 and again $32.14 on Jan 15. I also could not get anyone to respond by phone to confirm the cancellation or explain the charges, and I’m still trying to return the FOB and recover the deposit. after calling my bank and themselves being unable to reach them, we have initiated a chargeback process. This has been a terrible and time consuming experience. If you’re considering this location, be cautious about cancellation and billing follow-up—my experience was multiple written attempts, continued charges, and no response.
I love this gym. It’s always clean well maintain and Everything is brand new. The staff are very friendly and whenever there is a question they are responsive and responsible. The good thing about this gym is that is 24 hours and you can use other branches whenever you want. In this branch, they have massage seats, which are really relaxing after work out, but in some other branches, they don’t have it, which I wish they had it in all the branches.
Terrible location, it is way too crowded, there's barely any space to move between the machines. It smells like sweat and is dirty compared to other Anytime Fitness locations. Locker room area is tiny and crammed, needed to wait for changing room to be available. People constantly film themselves working out with their phones on tripods, it's really annoying and shouldn't be allowed. Never going back to this location.
My experience with anytime started slowly with I think what was a misunderstanding with regards to language, but I went in and talked to both my sign up person, and someone that was English. They immediately offered to regulate the small issue of an accidental early billing. Everyone including myself was calm courteous and super chill. I went from thinking about cancelling my free trial to absolutely loving their facilities. Super clean, super good equipment, extraordinary staff, and just over all a great gym membership that I’m extremely happy with. The staff at Cathcart anytime are great, but especially Luca. The welcoming feeling I get whenever I come in keep me coming back to a local that’s actually farther then the one closer to me. I recommend if you’re looking for a new place to train, then go and join anytime. Having been in the fitness business myself years ago I went in guarded, and weary of being sold things. This chain has evolved from a sleepy little no one in Canada, to a contending force to be reckoned with.
Dorothy was an absolute pleasure and she made the experience phenomenal! She has exceptional customer service and we can’t thank her enough! The gym is very clean and the atmosphere is very motivating to train. I would highly recommend it!
