When I hired Arana to paint my home -- a whole-house exterior project -- in 2014, I had PTSD. My next door neighbor had recently had her house painted and my experience of being next door during that process was horrible. Her painters didn't even contact me the day they were starting and my windows were OPEN when they were sanding my neighbor's wood window sills, that first morning. Not only that, but HER painters did not put down any kind of protection and the pre 1970s paint chips were just floating down on to her plants and flowers, and mine. I called Catherine Baldi at Arana for help. Our kids attended school together and she was a friend. She helped me through the process of reporting these negligent painters to the appropriate city office, stopping them from spreading more lead and doing more damage. THUS, when it was my turn to paint my house, I knew whom I could call. Arana Craftsman Painters not only observes the latest lead safety practices, but also they work very cleanly and are very thorough about protecting surrounding foliage and non-work surfaces. Plus, as part of my whole-house contract, they provided a color consultant, Cass Morris, who came to my house with her box of samples and, taking in the paint schemes of my neighbors on either side, the flowers in our garden, and my and my spouse's personal preferences, she came up with a color scheme that we LOVED, that absolutely highlighted the architecture of our dear 1924 arts-and-crafts era home, and blended beautifully with the neighborhood; even in a way helping to distract from the less than stellar color choices of our neighbors on either side! Our color scheme both worked to harmonize the whole block, and stood out in a way that was tasteful, rather than being distracting or out-of-place. Full disclosure, a few years later I became a marketing writer for the company and my involvement there is visible on their website. But that is also a testimonial because I only work with clients who put their hearts into their work, and whom I believe in. Arana is that kind of company.
We engaged Arana to repaint our home's exterior in its entirety. It was previously painted improperly by the home flippers from whom we purchased it, and there were several spots where the paint was peeling or resembling crocodile skin. Although their proposal was not the lowest we got for the job, we thought the pricing accurately reflected the services they provided. The fact that their proposal included a one-hour meeting with a color consultant was also very welcomed; Cass Morris was excellent, and we are really pleased with the colors she recommended.
Arana Craftsman Painters is amazing! They did a beautiful job on our home; I recommend them highly. If you live in Oakland and need your house painted give them a call you wont regret it.

Leur travail est exquis et soigné. Elle et son personnel répondent toujours au téléphone, ils réparent tout ce qui peut mal tourner sur un chantier — ce dont on a rarement besoin, tant ils savent si bien ce qu'ils font. Elle traite ses employés comme de la famille ; elle prend les gens sous son aile et les forme et ils restent longtemps dans l'entreprise. Au fil des années, nous avons recommandé des dizaines de projets, des travaux de peinture intérieure et extérieure et de papier peint, et nous sommes impatients d'en recommander des dizaines d'autres.
