Great office, staff is super friendly. Asst. is very thorough! They do so many test and retest. It’s clean, pleasant they offer the pictures so you do not have to dial-ate. Dr Elkins is careful to listen and makes the experience pleasant. Glad I found this group.
I recently had an excellent experience at Austin Eye. Dr. River Ficke, the ophthalmologist, provided thorough and professional care, and Ellie, her assistant, was both personable and highly competent throughout my visit. What truly impressed me was how they handled a special request outside their normal scope. I needed specific testing measurements required by the FAA for pilot medical certification, which isn't part of their standard eye exam protocol. They accommodated this on a follow-up visit with complete professionalism. The FAA documentation required extensive paperwork that had to be prepared and transferred onto official FAA forms—work that fell well outside their typical reporting systems. Despite the extraordinary time and effort this required, they handled everything with care and attention to detail. The entire staff made me feel welcome, and I genuinely enjoyed my visits. I highly recommend this practice and wish them continued success.

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes with Dr. Maxwell Medert at Austin Eye, and it was an exceptional experience. Dr. Medert was thorough and explained everything clearly, which made me feel confident and well-informed throughout the process. His assistant, Taylor, also did an excellent job with the exam and paperwork. From start to finish, the service was outstanding. Every staff member was professional, friendly, and focused on my comfort. I truly felt that I was in good hands the entire time. The facility is nice, clean, comfortable, and stress-free. I'm very satisfied with my new vision and highly recommend Dr. Medert and the Austin Eye team.
Professional and an efficient experience from first contact with Kara to the work up and agreement with Vasti, to the meeting with Dr. Megert. Almost makes me wish I had 4 bad eyes, Class outfit!
