This place must pay for their good reviews because they are just as shady as any automotive place that tries to take advantage of people. The woman on the phone was absolutely rude to me for daring to ask if there were other options besides a ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR TIRE. then they said they could not find my wheel lock and wanted $400 to replace them in labor costs..... spoiler alert, the wheel lock was right in the car where I said it was. I was prepared to buy new tires and get all theservice I needed from them, but they were so rude and lied outright to my face it's worth it to move my car anywhere else. The Mazda dealership is currently doing everything for less than half of what these criminals tried to quote me. It's so weird too because the man working there seems honest and nice but the woman who called me on the phone had nothing but lies, arguments, absurdly inflated prices, and was rude to me because I simply asked for tire options. Take your vehicle anywhere but here, please. --- these people just looked me dead in the face and said "that doesn't look like other wheel locks" (it's the exact same but slightly smaller, it's obviously a wheel lock...) nah they just wanted to add a ridiculous labor cost for undoing a screw. -- these people quoted me a thousand dollar tire. I said i would rather replace both, can I please see options? 1000 for a tire seems expensive? This was met with abject rudeness. Bring your car here at your own risk. They are in the business of screwing people over or can't identify a wheel lock. If the DEALERSHIP is doing everything (tires, filters, alignment, etc) and they can beat the price by less than half, something is wrong with this place.
I took my Ford escape to get looked at because both of my low beams stopped working. I had just had one of them replaced less than 6 months ago at a Ford dealership and they charged me $400 for changing ONE bulb that’s hard to access. The mechanics at Austin’s Automotive changed both for only $153. I would’ve changed the bulbs myself but thought maybe there was a different issue with the low beams. Either way, I’m happy I found a place that provides efficient service and only performs the necessary work at a fair price.
I towed my car to Austin Automotive Specialists with limited knowledge after being quoted $900 by another shop for a new starter. After my new diagnostic, they relayed that it was actually my starter fuse that needed replacing, which saved me over $600. They were quick to make sure I was taken care of (this was right before Christmas) and I couldn't be happier with the service, price, and repairs. Brandon was so helpful and walked me through what went wrong with my car, how they were going to fix it, and provided a very accurate estimate for the repair costs. I will continue to recommend this shop to everyone I know and will come here for all future needs. The many handwritten thank you cards on the wall speak loudly for the quality of care you will receive.
Shady business, low quality work, bad communication. Had all my brakes repaired but they still squealed and screeched after took it home. Brought it back two times for them to figure out why and they said they didn’t hear it. My last visit they acted shady and told me I needed more repairs than they originally thought which would cost another $700, after I already agreed to $2k in repairs. I asked if these extra repairs were “necessary” or if I could do without because I didn’t have the extra cash. They then told me that they ALREADY DID THE EXTRA REPAIR, without my approval. I told them I couldn’t afford it and would have to borrow cash to pay for it, Andy sounded like he felt bad, so he reduced the cost down to $350. But the fact they did work without my approval which still forced me to borrow cash was shady and unacceptable. One of my previous repairs 2-3 years ago, I asked for the old parts back that they were replacing, and when I asked for them, front desk said they “forgot” and threw them away. They clearly don’t communicate and follow through well with their mechanics. After 3-4 years of working with them that’s enough poor service, I’m never going back.
32yo agreeable female, with zero car knowledge and a litany of past exploitative experiences with car mechanics, my faith in honest mechanics has been restored!! I dealt with Marie from front shop mainly over the phone & my mechanic was Andy. I had been given a faulty alternator from Midas up the road and subsequently was advised to buy a new starter and battery. After 3 breakdowns
