We have loved our experience at AMA. My daughter 4 started 10 months ago and she has progressed so much. I've noticed a difference in confidence and concentration. I love at the end of class coming in and the children showing what they have learnt during the lesson. The staff have always been super friendly. I love how it feels like a real community the moment you walk in. The main class always has such a range of ages, but they all want to see each other do well.
AMA academy is amazing, I’m so grateful we found it. My son came to us a couple of years ago after suffering through abuse and neglect for the first three years old his life. As a result he was a little behind in some areas and had very low self confidence. This place has been a game changer, he has come along so much in the six months we’ve been here. Seeing him singing his little dragon song at the end of his lesson has me fighting tears every time. For a kid that was scared of the world knowing he existed he is getting louder and louder every week. We’ve tried lots of different sports, dance, gymnastics classes/clubs but none have come close to this place, the staff here are on another level. Extremely attentive and caring, want everyone to have fun but not afraid to be a bit stricter if someone needs to regain their focus. Special shout out to Miss Esther who has really helped Scott grow so much since we joined. I wholeheartedly recommend Australian martial arts academy and thank you some much.
We absolutely love AMA ! We have been students of the academy since 2018, paused during COVID times and rejoin again this year. Our kids have excelled in self confidence and bully defense. We love the connections with the staff who has been part of the academy for years!!! And love the level of positive reinforcement that enhance children self confidence. Thank you AMA for being so awesome!🤩
Australian Martial Arts Academy in Marrickville is an exceptional place for teaching children resilience, discipline and respect. My 5-year-old daughter, Leyla, has been attending classes here and I couldn’t be more impressed. The instructors are warm, patient and highly skilled at engaging young kids. They make every lesson fun while still focusing on building confidence, coordination and positive values. Since joining, I’ve seen Leyla grow in confidence, focus and respect — not just in class but also at home. I wholeheartedly recommend Australian Martial Arts Academy to any parent looking for a nurturing environment where their child can develop strong life skills.
I did a trail with my child. The room used for little ones is the size of a large bedroom and it’s packed with about 15 kids with no limitation on who attends. It’s noisy and most of the lesson has very little physical practice in an only 30min block. As there are so many kids most of the time is waiting in a line or listing to instructions or seated on the floor. The price is very high for families, which encourages 2 lessons per week, so if you want 1 lesson per week you have to pay for minimum of 2 lessons. I must say the staff on site were great. I don’t recommend it but as there is a free trial you can see for yourself and be sure to be present in the room if there is space.
