Nick at Barrelhouse Cellars is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Every time I go in there for recommendations, he makes the best choices on the alcohol I order for the workplace. There is so much variety in this shop. There is also a beer garden out the back where you can enjoy what you have purchased! Highly recommend this place of business!!!
Very friendly guy Nick, looked after me. Very knowledgeable on wines and helped me pick out two good wines for a mid week dinner party. Terrific service.
I had previously been advised by the manager Nick on a nice Burgundy to buy for my girlfriend and visited the shop again looking for a top shelf Aussie Pinot and a white. After Nick’s excellent advice I came away with a Farr pinot and a terrific white. This shop has a beautifully curated range of wines, from less expensive to top shelf and in addition, superb product knowledge from Nick delivered in a friendly and easygoing manner.
Enzo Ferrari won’t be known for making the MOST cars, he’ll be know for making the BEST cars - paraphrasing form the movie “Ford vs Ferrari”. Barrelhouse Cellars won’t be know for having the MOST options, but they will be know for having the BEST options. From the moment that I walked in, I knew that I was in for something special. From the exquisitely curated range, to the exceptionally tidy manner that things were displayed, to the way that prices were written on the bottles, this was a premium experience. The staff were patient, knowledgeable and friendly and the prices were surprisingly competitive, given the location of the store and location. To top it off, our purchases were wrapped in a paper bag, then placed in a paper carry bag. Old school charm, new school range. Highly recommended.
