I’ve been climbing here for several months now and love all the amenities! Although now that it’s winter and windows are closed I’ve found the air quality to be a problem. I have asthma and between the chalk and shoe particles I can no longer climb multiple times a week without my lungs feeling it. I wish gyms thought about this more and had extra infrastructure to help clean the air/educational signage on chalk usage etc!!!
Everything here is great — the facilities are nice and the environment is good. But I’m really disappointed. When I signed up for the membership at the end of the month, the staff told me it would cover a full month. I only came a few times afterward, but on the 1st of the next month, I was charged again for the membership. Also, during my first few visits after getting the membership (at least four times), shoe rentals were free. But this time I was suddenly charged for them. I’ve already canceled my membership and won’t be coming back.
Absolutely love this gym. Even if your not super into rock climbing there is something for you. They offer various fitness classes that are fantastic with friendly staff and instructiors. The gym community is also amazing. Everyone is super nice and supportive of one another.
I tried the intro class for $25 and loved it! I had zero experience with bouldering or climbing in anyway and was nervous about the heights. Ash was our instructor and she was awesome. Super thorough, explained everything (didn't assume we knew any of the jargon), and really encouraging. I got a little stuck on a climb not knowing what to do next and she talked me through it. I tried a few more climbs on my own after the class in the open gym area and it was great. People just do their own thing and, while I was nervous about being "watched" by strangers - it didn't feel that way once I was actually on the wall climbing. Absolutely would go again and considering taking further classes.
Great time there with my kids (9 and 12 years old. There's a great colorful diagram on which is easiest paths and on up to hard ones. Some of the harder paths my younger son couldn't reach due to his smaller wing span, but he used other colors to make it work.
