Boxcar Coffee Shop in Edmonton absolutely lived up to the hype. It came highly recommended, and since I’m in town for a local event, I knew I had to check it out. I’m really glad I did. I ordered a cappuccino and their popular signature tres leches cake, and both were excellent. The cappuccino was smooth, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. The tres leches cake was a standout. Moist and rich with the perfect combination of three milks, custard, and pineapple, it was indulgent without being overly sweet and easily one of the best desserts I’ve had in a café setting. The space itself is cozy and quaint with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to sit and stay awhile. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you’re visiting Edmonton or even a local looking for a great coffee spot with amazing desserts, Boxcar Coffee Shop is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Boxcar Cafe is one of those rare cafés where the experience matters just as much as the coffee. I love black coffee, but once a cup hits a solid seven out of ten, I start paying more attention to everything else, the service, the atmosphere, and how the space makes you feel. Boxcar gets this right. The staff are genuinely attentive and welcoming, and the café feels warm and intentional without trying too hard. From the outside, it’s understated enough that I briefly thought I had the wrong place. Inside, it was packed and full of energy. Somehow, by the time my drinks were ready, a table opened up. I ordered a black coffee and a matcha, both light, clean, and refreshing. This isn’t a place I’d camp out to work all day, but it’s perfect for catching up with friends and slowing down. They even offer pup cones and rotate seasonal drinks like strawberry lattes in the summer. Boxcar feels important to the neighborhood, and it’s a place I keep coming back to.

Yum! With its unique flavors and pastries, Boxcar is a must try in Edmonton! We got the drink flight, which I always love as an option. The chai is nice and spicy and the Hortado was tasty, too! The Train Wreck cinnamon bun is a must! The snowflake churro was fun. They had a whole seasonal menu full of fun things we want to try! The strawberry match latte was delicious!!! The brie turkey sandwich was a miss though. And a "side" of Doritos? No ma'am. I don't know why cafes think chips are a side now. Just get some garden salad, homies. But since they knocked everything else out of the park, we will be back to try more!

Very busy, but cute little coffee shop! I love the vibe inside, there’s a few tables a seen people playing chess at and others reading books enjoying their time. I went on a Saturday morning, and was so busy I couldn’t sit inside to enjoy my order, but enjoyed my treat on my way home nonetheless.
