We’ve all experienced the 'dreaded return' that feeling of bracing yourself for a complicated, high-friction transaction when you realize you’ve bought the wrong item (in my case, a charger). I went into the Eaton Centre Canadian Tire expecting a headache, but the experience turned out to be a complete mood-shifter. While there was a bit of a wait at the returns counter which is expected in a busy downtown hub the cashier who helped me was absolutely fantastic. They were in such a genuinely good mood and had such an 'adorable,' upbeat energy that it completely reset my own temperament. It’s a testament to how much power a single staff member has to change the 'logic' of a retail experience. I walked in frustrated with my wrong purchase and walked out in a great mood simply because of the human interaction at the register. Excellent service that reminds you that even in a massive store, the people make the difference
The design of the racks and the walking routes are a bunch of mess. It is very hard to pass around in the corner of the racks,no need to mention carrying a shopping cart. Everywhere is squeezing. The downstairs has a lot of gears for sports but almost no one knows because of the messy arrangement. Even if someone does find the entrance of the escalator, the entrance is very tiny and messy, hard to walk, because they set so many columns in the front of the entrance. Everything is designed for thief protection and selling goods, never consider a bit of the comfort of their customers.
Terrible Shopping Experience 🛍 😪 not going there ever again 😑 HOME DEPOT ONLY! FROM NOW ON. Gorilla Security On Entering this establishment. Has No sense 😕 as if I need to shop here! NO 👎 ⛔ 📵 Thank You! I will not be back ever 🙂 🙃
Customer service is incompetent here. I bought something that had a magnet strip on it and they say there's nothing they can do to deactivate it. Why sell products with security magnets when you don't have the tools to remove them? You'd think that would be a basic thing for stores to have, but apparently not this one. Unless the workers just don't know how to do it. I don't know which scenario is worse sadly. Their security alarms by the door clearly don't work because only other stores activated the alarm, otherwise I would not have noticed. Update: called 1800 number as requested in the reply to my review. They seem to think it was deactivated at the store but not at other stores. Security magnets don't work like that, I have worked in retail before. Make it make sense.
Openly thieving from customers. Item is on shelf, organized in a bin with their inventory tag showing one price. Suddenly a different price at the checkout. I am told to accept the higher price because it’s ‘’not the same item’. They filled an entire bin with them, organized and clear. But it’s my responsibility to check that Canadian Tire puts the right sku in the right bin?? BAIT AND SWITCH! Complaints filed with BBB and Competition Bureau! Canadian consumers have rights! Oh hey CTC: Email me and quote the scanner code of practice about bins? Is that why you don't -ever- put a price tag on anything? So that literally -nothing- is your fault? -YOU- put those in -THAT- bin and put -YOUR- price tag on them, but that doesn't matter until checkout. So why bother tagging -anything- then? Cowards! Thieves! Liars! Stop shopping at CTC people, just stop! See other reviews. They’re doing it to everyone! Lower prices on website, lower price on shelf then wham! Suddenly higher at the register and since it’s -their- system they’ll say it’s right and tell you to pound sand. Never again will I darken CTC’s door.
