I brought my 11 years old golden retriever here for behaviour correction classes. Sam and the team did a fantastic job on correcting leash pulling and reactive behaviours in just one month. Not just my dog learned to be calm but I also acquired handling skills. Highly recommend dog owners who have reactive dogs to seek help from them.
We got a baby Doberman, I’ve had different kind of dogs but I never had a big dog. A few friends recommended Captain K9 to us. Our dog’s trainer was Sam, I remember I had brought one of my dogs (a beagle) to Petsmart for training years ago, thought that was enough. Sam’s training was up by many levels, he solved all our problems in terms of training and communicating with our new family members. He didn’t train our dog, he trained us how to train our dog with a system. I think it was money well spent. And we still go there to buy raw food for my dog, I didn’t compare the price but my friends told me their raw meat prices are very reasonable too. Will definitely recommend to dog owners who has problem with their furry child.
Came here for dog grooming. It’s my dog’s first groom in her 7 year life and I was really worried. Not sure how she would respond. The groomer at Captaim K9 did a great job. She spent 3 hours to comb through every knot at my dog’s butt and tail. She came back so fluffy and with zero knots. Most importantly, my dog really seem to enjoyed her time there and was not stressed at all. She also smells so nice I can’t stop hugging and kissing her lol Thank you so much and I would keep coming here for grooming needs. I also switched my raw food supplier to here and my dog is responding really well to the food :)
We adopted our dog, Kiko, earlier this year in January. While we love him deeply and enjoy having him around, he struggled with severe predatory aggression toward other dogs and would instinctively go for the neck. Every walk became a nightmare as we were constantly scanning the streets and avoiding any possible encounters. At one point, it felt completely hopeless, like this was something we would have to live with for the next 10 years. That changed when we took Kiko to Captain K9 and met Kevin. From the very beginning, Kevin emphasized the importance of truly understanding the dog and learning how to handle him properly. He gave us a perspective from the dog’s point of view—something we had never considered before. After almost two months of consistent weekly training, the transformation has been incredible. Kiko has learned how to regulate himself around other dogs and now turns his attention back to us most of the time. Walks have gone from stressful and avoidance-based to genuinely enjoyable. He even has perfect recall off-leash at the park now—something we never thought would be possible. Words can’t describe how grateful we are to Kevin. In many ways, he didn’t just train Kiko—he saved his life.
My dog and me were trained by Sam in CaptainK9. Sam is a great trainer, he is so kind and friendly. He would take time to explain to me how to understand a dog' thinking and behaviour! I have a 15 month cockpoo, he is very anxious during dog walking time and spinning a circle around me over times. He used to tend to avoid dogs during walking and no socializing , now he is much calm and started with some socialization. He also become happier during walking time. We learned obey classes, and already use these techniques between our daily interactions! After each session and practice, my dog getting improved in progress. I would highly recommend anyone who wants their dog become more calm and happier bog or girl, learn some obey and instructions during interaction, most important, I realized as a pet owner, I need to study harder and watch my habit and interactions with my dog. Sam is very professionally and skillful with dog training! And I can tell he loves his job as he is in the role deeply to teach us. Thank you so much, Sam! Me and my dog Happie learned a lot from you!
