Front staff was friendly. Decor was pretty. Food was fantastic. Our server Kevin was great, he knew all the right things to suggest. He was enthusiastic and pleasant
We chose this spot for a sit-down dinner during our trip to St Louis. I had high hopes for this restaurant attached to the Drury Inn, but it was a letdown. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty with only three tables occupied, we were seated in an awkward corner right by the kitchen entrance.. Although the menu at the door advertised burgers—which is what we wanted—that menu was never offered to us once we sat down. We opted for the 30-day aged steak, but it was subpar, as were the other dishes. To make matters worse, my wine pour was less than a quarter-full, while I noticed other tables receiving significantly larger pours. Given the high price point, we expected much better quality and service. Definitely the low point of our otherwise great food tour of St. Louis!
If you’re looking for a dependable, family-owned spot in St. Louis that balances Italian tradition with a classic steakhouse feel, Carmine’s Steakhouse is a very good choice. During our recent group visit, the atmosphere was warm and professional, and the service was truly a highlight; our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring the evening ran smoothly. The meal started with a Caesar salad that was a step up from the garden salad, followed by their famous toasted ravioli. They claim it’s the best in town, and it lived up to the hype with a perfectly crispy exterior and a deep, savory flavor. For the main course, I opted for the NY Strip, which is notably the only USDA Prime cut on their menu. Although it arrived slightly over the requested medium, it didn't detract from the experience—the texture was excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the flavor and crunch of the seared, fatty edges. Paired with a "the works" baked potato, it was a hearty and satisfying plate. While Carmine's might not be ranked in my "top ten" list, the fair pricing, quality food, and welcoming environment make it an ideal spot for a group gathering or a private event.
We came to St. Louis to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful dinner at Carmine's. Our server Kevin was awesome, he knows the menu and was attentive to our table. He was friendly and personable. We had a fillet and the 22 Oz Riley, they both were tender, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The mushroom risotto was everything we hoped it would be. Overall a wonderful dinner and experience. The Tuxedo Cake was one of the best we've had!
Beautifully decorated venue. Very nice staff with wide selection of spirits, wine, beer, and specialty drinks offered. Market pricing on food items to ensure best quality. The scrimp scampi was top notch. Would have preferred if there was a little more variety to the food menu. Unfortunately their spicy cheesy potato side dish (special) lacked in flavor and the medium steak ordered was rare. Also wish they had a side salad offering or an actual vegetable as their "vegetable" of the day was Cajun creamed corn. Overall, it's a pretty nice place where you can relax, enjoy yourself, and be catered to.
