Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Used to frequent the old Dallas location before switching to this one after the other location closed. Loved the food and the affordable prices. Between the two locations I've probably eaten here at least 15 times. Planned to order my usual, Manuel's Enchiladas, for pickup today and discovered that it's no longer on the menu. It has been replaced by Manuel's Tex-Mex, at $15.50 it's $5.50 more than the old dish... I'd be less annoyed if the same dish was still available for a higher price, but removing 1 of the 3 enchiladas in favor of a simple crispy taco for $5.49 more is just robbery. Really sad to see from my go-to restaurant in Richardson/Plano. I'm sure the rest of their food is good but unfortunately I probably won't be coming back as there are now other options that are easier to get to for similar prices.
Casa Mama’s in Plano is such a gem! We sat on the patio and had a fantastic dinner with fresh flavors and friendly service. The chicken enchiladas with mole sauce were rich, savory, and full of authentic flavor, and the chile relleno was perfectly prepared with a delicious sauce and cheese on top. The sides of beans, rice, and pico de gallo rounded out the plates beautifully. We started with fresh guacamole that was creamy and flavorful, and the margaritas were spot on—refreshing and well balanced. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the sopapillas, served warm and golden with ice cream and drizzled with honey—absolutely the perfect sweet ending. Overall, Casa Mama’s delivered authentic, flavorful Mexican food in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back!
First of all the food was amazingly fresh and delicious!!! Friendly atmosphere, great servers…very attentive and explained the menu pretty well for the taste buds!! The ingredients were simple, fresh and the salsa was definitely a win, along with the quesa cheese dip with beef, 5 stars for authentic and fresh!! Margaritas were on point, we did the top shelf margaritas and couldn’t go wrong we actually got it right with this one, per our servers recommendation! Hey go visit you won’t be disappointed by far! No complaints! They even sing you happy birthday!
A great place in the neighbourhood for Mexican cuisine. The ambience and restaurant is pretty rustic and not very high-fi however the food is simply delicious. I would any days go in for a nice tasty meal over a fancy place. The Guacamole was out of the world and they do bu the table. The enchiladas were good as well.
Food was okay, nothing I'd go back for. The sour cream tasted off. We both had stomach issues after but it could be coincidental. It is definitely more for the ones who like Mexican food but don't like the heat. It is not Tex-Mex. The queso was just queso blanco which is fine but there was very little anything else in it (sorry for the poor photo its what I had and cropped out people). I forgot the names of what we had one was potato Enchiladas with brisket and one had 2 Enchiladas and a taco. The server we had was killing it with all the tables and bar he was helping at. We won't be back as there is just too many other better options but it's worth a try to see if it's something you'd like to eat.
