I highly recommend Dr. James Kilgour at the Center for Dermatology & Laser Surgery, A Golden State Dermatology Affiliate. I'd seen a product on Facebook that Dr. Kilgour developed for postmenopausal hair loss and was intrigued by his presentation. I was diagnosed with a form of alopecia 6 years ago that isn't specifically post menopause related, so I decided to make a 3 hour drive to Sacramento to talk to Dr. Kilgour before buying the product. We talked briefly about it and how it wasn't designed for my condition which is what I expected to hear. Beyond that, I received an excellent examination of my difficult-to-treat condition currently. He made spot-on recommendations regarding my options for treatment. He also identified a scalp condition I didn't know I had that requires a prescription shampoo. I've been using that now for several weeks; I both see and feel an improvement. Dr. Kilgour is warm, funny, clear in his explanations, not "rushed", very "present" and (I quote) "better looking in person" - his humor not mine!! I actually enjoyed the visit, was thoroughly satisfied with the exam and the experience overall. I'll add that the office, in general, appears to be very well run. First, it was easy to make an appointment! The waiting room was filled with beautiful photography books and other interesting material to enjoy while waiting BUT I didn't really have to wait; my appointment happened right on schedule. Shawn, at the front desk, made check-in for a new patient efficient and easy. I have a competent dermatologist closer to home who has managed my condition well to this point in my opinion and Dr. Kilgour's. If I'm ever in need of a second opinion in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to make that drive again. Dr. Kilgour is an exceptional dermatologist. He listens carefully and explains everything clearly. He is gentle, caring, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dermatologist they can truly trust.
I’ve been going to Dr. Tanghetti for a long time, and he is an amazing doctor. His communication skills are excellent, as he tells you what to expect when he removes something, or if nothing needs to be done he tells you that too. I’m really happy that I’m able too have him as my doctor.
Doctor Tanghetti is an excellent dermatologist! He keeps up with and contributes to developments in his field. He is personable and caring, and he answers questions completely and understandably. We will definitely miss him when he retires.
