This was our second time boarding our dogs at Central pet. Everything went well with the first boarding. We had some issues this time, but overall, I would still give a 4-star rating to Central Pet. I made the reservations 3 months in advance and clearly stated that I wanted our dog to have doggie daycare added into her boarding stay. I never heard anything back about the doggie daycare and thought that would happen. We went to drop off our girl for boarding and I let them know that I wanted to add in some add-ons - turndown service, pupsicles and doggie daycare. The employee asked if I filled out an application for the doggie daycare. I said I didn't know about an application, and she said we must fill one out and then they do the temperament test. I asked if that could happen during the stay and was told that it had to be done before any boarding stay. We live 4 hours from central pet. If the temperament test needs to be completed before a boarding that means we would have to drive four hours one way. Sorry, that’s not going to happen. There should be a way to get them done for people who live far away from their facility.
I have used Central Pet multiple times to board my German Shepherd. We have had negative experiences with other boarding facilities where he has come home incredibly anxious. I have not had that issue with Central Pet. They are extremely proactive in keeping me up to date with what’s going on with my giant baby, keep detailed notes about his eating habits and behavior. I will continue to use Central Pet as long as we are in Tucson.
Chief has stayed at Central Pet a few dozen times and we’ve always had a great experience. Very fun activities and services available during his stay. I especially like the photo packages so I can check in on him during my trip!
My dog has been going to Central Pet for daycare, boarding, and grooming for the past two years. The staff are very welcoming and you can tell they have the skills needed for working with dogs of all different temperaments. They do a great job of accommodating to every pet’s needs and are very thorough when it comes to learning about your pet. Everyone there, from the front desk staff to the daycare/boarding techs, have a genuine love for animals and it brings me comfort to know my dog is in good hands. I can’t recommend Central Pet enough to all the dog owners I know. Also, they do themed parties once a month and take the best pictures of my dog, Luna!!
Central Pet has been a lifesaver for our family. Our two large dogs, Yam and Daisy, have grown up at Central Pet and attend daycare regularly. Their daycare program helped socialize our dogs, and for that I am forever grateful. As someone who has previously had dogs who were extremely offensive/aggressive towards other dogs, I understand the daily challenges and stress those behaviors can bring. Having a socialized dog is just easier and early socialization is key for setting your dog and you up for success. In our household, the word “daycare” makes ears go up and tails wag. I have a unique perspective on Central Pet, because I previously worked there as a front desk receptionist. Although I now work at a local animal shelter, I will always support CP and bring my fur babies there. My family and I have used their grooming services, boarding services, and training services (Colorado river road and rattlesnake avoidance training). Over the years, I have gotten to know staff, the owner, Julie, and the director, Richard. They good people. Not only do they take care of my babies, but I have seen they always try to go the extra mile and help their community when they can. One example, their grooming team dedicated their time and energy to the local shelter by helping clean up a severely matted pup that came in as a stray. That’s just one of many “little” things that have had a big impact. My little family and I will always be grateful for Central Pet ❤️
