We are incredibly grateful to the team at CENTREDMVVET Montreal. We had to take our small dog in on a random Tuesday night, feeling scared and unsure, and from the moment we arrived we were met with nothing but kindness, compassion, and professionalism. The staff took the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and treated our dog with such genuine care and tenderness. It was obvious how much they truly care about the animals and the families who love them. Thanks to their attentive and thoughtful care, our dog is now feeling much better. We can’t thank the entire team enough for being there when we needed them most — truly an outstanding emergency veterinary hospital.
Our 4 year old Bernese Mountain Dog has unfortunately had to have two TPLO surgeries on either knees in her short life. Both surgeries were performed by Dr. Planté and his team and we honestly could not be more grateful. We have driven the 1.5 hours from home to the clinic several times now and each time my partner and I comment on how worthwhile it has been for the level of care and service the reception, surgical, and orthopedic teams have provided us. Our girl healed extremely well from her first TPLO and we are confident that with the care and guidance from the Centre DMVet team, her recovery from this second surgery will be just as good. Thank you Dr. Planté and team!
I recently brought my cat to DMV Emergency Vet after my regular vet recommended a scan they couldn’t perform. Overall, I found the experience to be a mix of good medical care and significant operational frustrations. Pros: The veterinarians themselves seem knowledgeable and genuinely concerned for the well-being of their patients. The facilities are bright, modern, and clean, which does provide some reassurance during an already stressful time. Cons: Despite the quality of care, I couldn’t shake the feeling that almost every step came with an upsell. I felt pressured to hospitalize my cat overnight at a quoted cost of $2,000 per night, on top of the $300 base fee, medications ($150), and the ultrasound ($800+). It was overwhelming, especially when you’re already emotional about your pet’s health. The wait times were also excessively long for such an expensive service. I waited five hours the first night for my cat to be seen, and when I returned the next day with an appointment for the ultrasound, the wait was over four hours. When we asked why it was taking so long, we were told that the ultrasound was actually at 4pm but the have the animals dropped off 4 hours earlier. None of the staff bothered to inform us of this. Additionally, the communication between intake staff and veterinary care staff was inconsistent. My primary vet had sent over my cat’s file, and despite receiving confirmation, DMV misplaced it. Bottom line: The medical care appears to be very good, but the cost structure feels prohibitive and, at times, pressuring. When people arrive worried and emotional, it’s easy for them to agree to premium services without fully processing the price. Combined with long wait times and communication issues, it made the experience more stressful than it needed to be. The care is solid, but be prepared: it can become extremely expensive, very quickly.
We sat here for over 6 hours and got admitted after waiting such a long time even my dog got depressed. The entire time there was only ONE vet working to see people waiting in the emergency room! For a so-called “emergency” clinic, that is an absolute joke. If you want to be taken seriously, hire more vets. Right now you’re just playing with the lives of animals by leaving desperate owners waiting endlessly while their pets suffer. This place is a disgrace. I even watched another lady walk out in tears after waiting for ages with no help. The management here should be ashamed — it’s cruel, careless, and completely unprofessional. And let me be very clear: I don’t want these people replying with some fake, copy-paste PR “we’re sorry for your experience” nonsense. No amount of scripted responses will fix the fact that this clinic is horribly run and terrible for animals. Avoid this place. Period.
Update on August 21, 2025 : the hospital refunded me of what they owed me from their mistake. Thank you. Short story: They said they lost the blood sample of my cat. It's okay and all i asked was a refund. It was challenging but now we're all set. Honestly the blood sample don't have leg to run away. Only some people or some employees are not doing their job properly. Now the hospital refund to me and I rate you 3 stars for customer service and 5 stars for all your specialist. Thank you, from long time return customers. NOTE : this is not a hate comment. This is not a promoting comment. The service and the worker here are used to be very nice and warm welcoming before. The specialist veterinarians there are very excellent. Now, the customer service are different than before. Some employees could be very rude and trying to control all the situation to cover their mess even they don't know the situation and they don't even want to take time to understand what happen and not trying to help. And then LOST customers blood sample.... Sometime , It could feel so hopeless and frustrating when there's no option to contact the specialist at all about what's going on with our pet and no option to solve any problem. Please, make an improvement. What is also very weird is that they took the blood sample 6 days ago and 6 days later they said they lost it. Please choose the good employees to do their job properly.
