We absolutely love Dr. Herring and feel so lucky to have our children in her care. She is kind, knowledgeable, and truly wonderful with kids — she always takes the time to listen and makes us feel confident as parents. The entire team at Children’s Clinic of Nashville is fantastic. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and efficient, and they make every visit feel easy and stress-free. We couldn’t recommend this practice more. We feel so lucky to have them as our pediatric practice!
I used to see Dr. Haraf until he completely dismissed me when I brought up my sons breathing issues. Told me flat out that no ENT would take out his tonsils under the age of 5 and that he would "take a look at him if it made me feel better" and I have this all in writing. I ended up with a new pediatrician where we were sent to an ENT very quickly and my son just had his tonsils removed last week at 2.5 years old. We did a sleep study that showed severe sleep apnea and his adenoids were taking up 90% of his nasal airspace. My sons entire life changed with the surgery. Behavior problems diminished, quality of life increased. So the next time a mom comes to you and has a concern, give her the referral. Especially when it did no harm to the pediatrician other than hurting his ego.
I went here as a kid and now my child goes here. I have had really great experiences with all of the providers I have encountered. The practice promptly responds to urgent after hours calls and non-urgent portal messages. Dr Haraf is not my primary physician, but as I've seen a few comments about him I'll say he does have a blunter mode of speaking but he also stayed well past closing on a Saturday (I called in just a few minutes before they closed) to see my newborn when I was concerned about her breathing (she was totally fine) and was very kind about the whole thing.
If you’re a first-time parent looking for a safe space to ask questions about vaccinations, this is not the place for you. To be clear, I am not an anti-vaxxer. I went in today for my son’s 6-week visit—we’ve been to this office twice before. As a new mom wanting what’s best for my son, I wanted to discuss delaying one of his 6-week vaccines until his next visit and to have an open conversation with his doctor. While I was discussing vaccination options and the schedule with the front desk, Dr. Haraf came around the corner, saying, “I want to hear this,” with a smug smirk and his arms crossed. Shocked, I asked him to repeat himself, and he did. When I asked again about the vaccine options, Dr. Haraf made a sarcastic comment, stating that they don’t delay vaccines. Then the front desk staff told me I needed to speak with Dr. Herring, which was confusing. I did talk to Dr. Herring, who was kinder and more understanding, acknowledging that I’m trying to make the best decision for my child as this is all new to me. However, she then said I shouldn’t feel pressured and that I didn’t need to get the vaccines today. So, I could either get them or not, but they don’t delay them? This was very confusing. We ultimately got the vaccines, but I will not be returning. As a young new mom, Dr. Haraf should be ashamed to call himself a family doctor. Instead of helping me feel comfortable and supporting me in making the best choice for my child, he judged and bullied me for asking about something outside the norm. Shame on this office and any doctor who bullies rather than guides.
I have had the pleasure of watching both children grow in 19 yrs with The Children’s Clinic from Dr. K. Schull, now recently 5 with Dr. K. Gigante. Today my son was able to express how he was feeling to Dr. Gigante, as she listened attentively and with empathy 🫶🏽. The assistant to Dr. Gigante as well as Dr. Gigante provided him with exceptional care, after having a fever🤒 for the past 48 hrs. This wasn’t a routine visit for him, it was a sick visit and my son was able to get right in to see his provider Dr. Gigante, it was a pleasure watching them as they had their one on one. I truly believe Dr. Gigante expressed her concerns clearly and with sincerity, and he felt heard. I would recommend The Children’s Clinic of Nashville as a whole to other parents as well for routine and for their walkin clinic. 25 years of excellence… We love you Dr. Gigante 🙌🏽
