My dog Marshmallow has been going to Club K9 for daycare for almost 4 years now. He wags so hard when he arrives and is so happy to see the staff and comes home tuckered out. I’m glad to have him cared for by this team.
Over the last decade, our dogs have stayed here 20+ times. The supervisors (e.g. awesome Tara) and staff (e.g. Adrian) are absolutely WONDERFUL. Whatever special needs your dog may have, they follow through to make sure it's taken care of. Highest recommendation. (The turn-over is infrequent, so the owners must be doing more than a little right as well.)
The employees seem good but there were two things which didn't suit me: 1. The meet and greet process is weird. As soon as I came they took the dog and put him in crate making him so nervous and not giving him any time to adjust to new environment. Then they took him out and straight to a pen of dogs. And yes he growled and obviously failed the assessment. He is a very friendly dog and I think they hurried the process of meet and greet. Having worked with lot of dogs I could tell they just didn't let him decompress and give even a minute to adjust. I was not angry that he didn't pass and the employee was very courteous but I do want to point his out the process is not for every dog. 2. They are a crated facility and do keep the dogs for quite a lot in crate with some supervised play time and almost 12 hours per night in crate for the boarding . They were honest and upfront and I appreciated there disclosure. Just know what you are signing up for, this seems like a nice place with nice employees but it is not for every dog 🐕.
Club K9 is absolutely amazing! My 22 month old Chihuahua/ King Charles Spaniel mix, Archibald just loves going to see his friends and playing all day. I have been purchasing the unlimited monthly plan for Archie and am really happy with it. Sometimes he goes all day long (7a-7p) while I’m working and other days I may just drop him off for a few hours on Saturday/ Sunday while I run some errands or whatnot. He really loves spending most of the day outside while being there, it’s a wonderful location, nice fresh air up in the hills of Castro Valley. There is ample shade, baby pools, water misters to keep him cool, but still allow him that time to play outside all day. I know on really hot days they have brought him in to prevent him and others from overheating. I really trust the staff and this facility with my baby, they are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a great doggy daycare!
I cannot recommend Club K9 highly enough! This facility truly stands out with its extremely knowledgeable staff and thoughtfully designed layout, perfect for any dog. What I appreciate most is how accommodating they are with my often hectic schedule. No matter if I'm running late or have to head out of town, I'm assured that my pup is well-cared for and having a blast. The dedication to outdoor play in the beautiful California setting is what sets Club K9 apart. It's refreshing to see a facility that allows dogs to thrive in natural surroundings, unlike other places that confine dogs indoors with higher prices! At Club K9, dogs are always under the watchful eye of real staff that love what they do, ensuring they're safe while they play and explore. The initial assessment to ensure every dog fits well with the group is a testament to their commitment to safety and fun. I couldn't imagine a better place for my dog and I was raised on a farm in Vermont that was ran by a veterinarian. I plan to remain a loyal customer for decades to come, as long as the owners maintain their excellent standards. Dropping off my pup at Club K9 gives me peace of mind, allowing me to concentrate on work, knowing he's in great hands. Picking him up is always the highlight of my day. A big thank you to all the staff at Club K9 for your dedication and care!
