I recently contacted Dean Collett for a initial consultation regarding a potential legal issue I was worried about. From the first call, their staff was professional and scheduled the consultation promptly. During the free session, the attorney I spoke with took the time to listen to my situation carefully. They explained the relevant legal principles in clear, plain English—no confusing jargon. Most importantly, they gave me a realistic assessment of my risks and outlined the specific steps I should take immediately to protect myself and avoid further trouble. They were clear about what they could and could not do within the scope of a consultation. the advice provided was exactly what I needed. Where do I start... Hmm.. Well, I needed help, when I shouldn't have needed... I asked around for the best in my case, and was referred here to collett read. TOP LAW FIRM in Hamilton. When mentioned I was being represented by Collett Read LLP, the elicited response was usually along the lines of "They'll take good care of you!" And they did!! My initial consultation was with Dean Collett. He promised me nothing. But, his confident cadence and careful consideration of the details I provided gave me a sense of security at a time when I was at a record low. He has a strong sense of where the members of his team are most effective, and I could hear his eyes light up over the phone as he spoke highly of each and every one of them; the markings of a true leader. I went with Jessica Read, a Partner Lawyer of the firm. It's important to note that Jessica started as a Crown Attorney, which gives her a certain edge (e.g. an intricate understanding of how the Prosecutors think and concise knowledge of how the written law is interpreted by the officers of the court). It's also important to note that Dean and Jessica built this firm together, and train the entire office to advocate for their clients to the fullest extent. I was prepared to fight my case tooth and nail, but didn't have to thanks to Jessica Read. I feel very lucky she acted with a high code of ethics, including the following: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Justice, Competence, and Stewardship. A BIG SHOUT OUT to Dean Collett, Jessica Read, Alyce Wilson, Adara Giancola, and the entire Collett Read Team.
