The staff was friendly, but I wouldn't recommend taking lessons here. I signed up for lessons with Erick Peralta. Erick is a great musician, but he doesn't respect his students' time, and the school doesn't provide any recourse for that. Every lesson after the first one, he made me wait 5-10 minutes while finishing up with another student, and didn't acknowledge or apologize for this. The lesson ended at the regular time since the next student was waiting, so my 45 minute lessons were cut short. During my most recent lesson, he made me wait 15 minutes with no acknowledgement that I had to wait, and I lost my patience and walked out because my time wasn't respected. I won't be attending any more lessons at CMC, the lack of respect and lost time is not worth the guidance that a teacher provides. In 2025 there are many excellent resources to learn from online, and it doesn't make sense to spend 30 minutes in traffic to try and learn from a teacher who doesn't care. I'm leaving a negative review for the school as a whole because this feels like a scam. I paid for all the lessons up front and I'm only allowed a refund after the first lesson, so I have no recourse if a teacher decides to cut all of my lessons short.

This is the best place! The staff (Seth, Shannon, and everyone else) are amazing, the facility is beautiful, the instruments sound great, and the scheduling is very easy. Wish I had something like this in my home town. Love that this exists! Study here, donate instruments, practice here!

I love SFCMC Capp St.! The practice rooms are perfect with pianos and so comfortable, well lit, and acoustic. Availability is great too. I highly recommend practicing here.

I had such a wonderful time practicing in the concert hall on my recent long trip in SF. Reserving time on an instrument was painless, and on arrival everyone was so kind, and the instrument I played was well maintained and a pleasure to practice with. The grounds and gardens were beautiful as well. I will certainly be back when I’m in SF in the future!

We were visiting for a week and had to practice piano. The rehearsal rooms were great! All of the pianos were in great condition. The rooms are clean and airy. Private. Sav, at the front desk was so helpful and sweet! Highly recommend if you are in town and need to rent a room for piano practice.
