Our adopted dog went from minimal training and out of control walks to happily showing off his new skills amid the distraction of 20 other dogs and owners, even able to follow verbal commands off leash. We completed both level 1 and level 2 courses. Now we are planning to enroll again to refine the more stubborn reactivity issues and work on recall. If you have a dog that has seemed resistant to typical group training programs (or who wasn't eligible due to behaviors), talk with Cooperhaus. We were hesitant at first because they promote use of a Herm Sprenger prong collar (not required), but their approach turned out to be the solution that our dog actually responded well to. He was excited to go to class, and use of the agility course afterwards was a highlight and reward.

Two words: Life saver. Brent has a huge heart for dogs & his work. He and his team are phenomenal. Only wish we met sooner! We’ll treasure him and his help for life.

Absolutely grateful we went here. My boarder recommended them. I did the pet store training for half the price and felt like my dog didn't get half of what we learned here. At the store, they didn't want dogs interacting which doesn't help reactivity, but here, they build up to it. After being around so many dogs on day 1, our walks changed and he was no longer reacting to every dog we passed. When they introduced the dogs to the agility course, my dog was not a fan but the 3rd week he did it, he was confident and enjoyed it. He follows his commands much better now! My only complaint would be the parking lot, if you have a truck, you're good- if you drive a small car- you might have problems getting out (loose gravel, at least in the summer-might be different after the rain). Absolutely will go back for Level 2 and have already recommended them to multiple other dog owners

Excellent in every respect. Brent Cooper and his assistant, Skye, are famous on the S.F. Peninsula and beyond for their advanced dog training skills. I arrived to drop off my beautiful, affectionate and stubborn 14 month old, 52 lb purebred Australian Shepherd for the 5 week board and train program. He was dragging me down the path, reacting (pulling and barking at every dog we passed). Observant Skye saw my predicament literally picked up my wild dog and told me that after the program he would be a "different dog." To be honest, I was just hoping to have a few weeks of recovery since I had recently had my orthopedic boot removed from my broken ankle and I was exhausted. During the program they sent me photos and videos. I was completely satisfied. I highly recommend Cooperhaus to anyone who wants a professional and knowledgeable trainer. My dog’s transformation was miraculous.

I adopted a 1.5-year-old shepherd mix. He was a handful (to say the least), and I worried my arm would rip off at my shoulder with his strength and poor leash manners. I needed help yesterday. He was a good dog who had the potential to be excellent. Cooperhaus obedience training saved our friendship and gave us the skills to be free to walk/hike anywhere and vacation anywhere. Riding in the car is also peaceful (now)! We started with a private lesson with Sky (who is an awesome dog trainer and human teacher!). Not only did this show me that my new pup is a good dog who needs my guidance, but it was also the perfect first step in the growth and connection I needed with this adolescent dog. It was worth every cent. *The private lesson before group lessons started provided an advantage as a foundation that launched us into a great position, making the first course of obedience training a successful reinforcement of basic, critical skills for a great dog to succeed. We attended group classes (nearly) every Saturday for 3.5 months. It took time, consistency, and more consistency. Then voila! I have the dog of my dreams! He has excellent recall and heeling off leash, from dog park to hiking. My dog now knows how to say hi to other dogs (no more Shepherd barking and lunging!), and will stand patiently by my side away from a situation if a scuffle breaks out at the park. Matthew was incredibly helpful with questions in between sessions, always replying to my emails timely. Brent and his team of trainers genuinely love dogs and provide a safe atmosphere to train your pup. People bring big rottweilers to tiny toy dog breeds. I was never concerned about other dogs risking the safety of my rowdy pup. I refer my patients and dog park acquaintances to Cooperhaus when the humans look at us and scratch their heads in obedience envy. Thank you!!!! Pic below: our first day as a private lesson. This boy would bark and lunge at a dog from a block away. Sky is amazing!
