Creative Edge is truly one of a kind. Every decision the studio owner makes comes from a place of wanting what’s best for each kid. People who are not familiar with the competitive dance world are often surprised by how much time my girls dedicate to dance each week, but dance has shaped them in ways that go far beyond the stage. Sure, they are learning how to perform, but they are also learning discipline, commitment, and how to balance hard work with gratitude and grace. At Creative Edge, it isn’t just about technique or trophies. It’s about creating a space where dancers learn real-life lessons, build confidence, and feel like they are part of something bigger than themselves. My girls have gained true friendships, and I can honestly say that the sense of community here is something you won't find anywhere else. If you take only one thing from this review, let it be this: somewhere along the way, this studio stopped being just an activity and became a safe place for my girls. On the hard days, they walk through those doors and I can almost see the weight fall away. Knowing they have a place where they feel supported, encouraged, and fully themselves is something I will never take for granted.

We were at this studio for a while, and I want to share our experience in detail. This is a longer review, but I believe it’s important for parents to have all the information before making a decision. The biggest concern I want to highlight is the owner’s communication. Any time I raised a concern, it was met with defensiveness rather than a constructive conversation. It often felt like parents were being dismissed instead of heard, which made it difficult to advocate for our kids’ well-being. Many parents I’ve spoken with have had similar experiences but feel unable to say anything because the studio’s contract includes strict language about “trusting the process,” with the threat of legal action if families don’t comply. It creates an environment where parents feel stuck and uncomfortable speaking up. There were also concerns with the ballet instruction. The owner, who teaches the pointe classes, has never been a professional ballet dancer. I witnessed a very inexperienced student—less than two months into ever taking ballet—being placed on pointe. She had no basic foundation, and this happened a number of times. When we moved to a professional ballet company, my daughter was immediately refitted into the correct shoes and told her previous ones were completely wrong. She had been dancing on the wrong shoes for nearly two years without anyone at Creative Edge noticing. Beyond that, the studio’s cleanliness was consistently poor. The dance floors, lobby area, and dressing room were never professionally cleaned, and my daughter always came home with blackened feet and hands from the floors. The tape on the dance flooring was frequently coming up, creating a tripping hazard and an unsafe environment for students. The restrooms were also rarely cleaned and were often in such bad condition that we told our daughter to avoid using them unless absolutely necessary because they were so disgusting. Lastly, the required schedule for young dancers is excessive. Some dancers as young as ten are expected to be in the studio from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. dancing non stop without a break between, or later on school nights, which feels overly demanding and unrealistic. I’m sharing this in hopes that it helps other families make an informed decision.
