I've been working out at Custom Strength for 3 years. As someone who prefers to be active outside, I doubt there is another gym anywhere that could have kept me as a client for this long! Prior to the pandemic, I had been regularly working out (strength + cardio) for almost 40 years at an average of 3-4 times/week. Following a string of lower back and sciatica issues during the pandemic, I have lost a lot of strength and my athletic therapist suggested that I work on strengthening my lower body. In late 2021, I joined Custom Strength to help me get back “n shape” after failed attempts to gain more strength by myself. Elsbeth’s trainers developed a program tailored to my specific needs, and this program has evolved over time as I improved. I had to re-learn how to workout as I realized I had been doing it wrong for over 40 years (e.g. too much weight, too much reps, neglecting important muscles, etc.). The trainers at Custom Strength are attentive (they listen to your needs), discrete (no shouting “boot-camp”style), and pay particular attention to my form to reduce the risk of injuries. The semi-private coached sessions format are great as I go through my own individual program on my own and be corrected on my form by the trainer. Since I started my coached-led sessions, I’ve seen a clear improvement on my general strength with also no relapses on my previous issues and I generally feel much stronger. I resume many physical activities such as cycling and cross-country skiing, to name a few. I highly recommend Custom Strength. It’s a great investment for your health.
