Recently I had the scariest misfortune right outside of D & R and Ray & Chris came to my rescue. To be clear my car had not been serviced at D&R so what happened was in no way their fault. My tire had flown off of my car after a recent servicing elsewhere. Given my mobility I would have struggled to retrieve the tire or lug nuts, but they chased both down and they had me road worthy within minutes. Not only did they fix that tire but they checked the others. True samaritans and gentlemen, they wouldn't accept any money. With previous cars my family has utilized D & R and has always had a great experience. Couldn't recommend them more!
I am not from Pittsburg or live there but I bought a used Toyota Corolla in my state in June. The owner was from Pittsburg. Carfax said it has been in a minor accident and had repairs done. I found the paperwork was left in the glove box of the car I bought when this accident happened in 2022. The car was brought to this body shop to fix the front bumper issues from the accident. Before Thanksgiving I had scraped underneath the front bumper after pulling out of a steep driveway. A clip/bracket broke on the corner of the front bumper and I took to a body shop to get fixed. As they were taking off the bumper they found that this place had glued the left side of the bumper together so they couldn't fix it right because of that. Not only did they glue it together but they put the grill back on with WALL SCREWS! I have had to buy a brand new bumper for a car I just bought in June and they are having to fix the grill with the proper hardware. I am spending 900 to get this fixed before Christmas because this place did a horrible job fixing it. Again, I don't live in Pittsburg and this happened in 2022 . Maybe they have new people working there now but if not then BEWARE of taking your car to this place!
No customer protection Drop off my Truck May-5- 2025 and pick up July -23-2025. After 6 weeks the insurance said my car should have been fixed. And they gave me 2 more weeks of rental. And after 2 weeks I had to return the car to them. I called D&R auto body and found out that my car was there for over a month without being repaired, they said they would take care of the rental for me after 2 weeks and I didn't need to return the rental car and told me to relax and let them talk to the Insurance. But in the end I had to pay for the rental car. I called them and they passed the responsibility to the insurance and said it wasn't their job.
Needed sub-frame and rocker panel welded. Although they could not do that kind of work, spoke with me and gave me information on a local frame repair and welding shop. This enabled me to get my vehicle repaired at a reasonable price. Will definitely keep them on my list in the event I need body repairs done.
I have used D&R several times and my sister-in-law once. Their work has always been first-rate. On one repair, they encountered an unexpected electrical problem and took the initiative to (1) involve an independent, specialist firm to solve it and (2) reach out to my insurance company to get the extra work covered. I call that "above and beyond" and I recommend D&R without reservation. They haven't dispelled my deep cynicism about prevailing business practices, but they certainly put a dent in it.
