We brought our newborn here for his very first appointment and have continued coming back since. Dr. Herrera has been wonderful every visit-kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. Her bedside manner is exceptional, and I would highly recommend her to any parent seeking an outstanding pediatrician.
I have had one too many unpleasant visits to this office that today was the last straw and will not be returning. I called the office today to confirm if I could bring my child in since she had been extremely sick over the weekend. Firstly, the lady over the phone was very rude. She asked me “What do I need to see the doctor for” I told her my child was sick and then she said “for what” with an attitude. I proceeded to tell her what my child’s s symptoms were and she said, you can walk in today anytime before 2pm. I drove 30 min because I don’t live close and turns out they couldn’t see me at all because they were super busy. I told the receptionist that I had called and she said she would ask the manager. The manager ended up saying no and that was that. The manager doesn’t even have the audacity to come and tell me herself that they couldn’t see me after they made the mistake in telling me that it was ok to come in. The doctors are good but their processes and customer service is by far low level and I will not be coming here anymore and I will not recommend them to anyone. They need to have a better walk in process and retrain all their employees in customer service and empathy, including the manager who leads by example. Although we know how she is so hence why their team needs help.
Great Doctor, But Office Needs Improvement I want to start by saying that Dr. Velasquez is an excellent pediatrician. She's compassionate, knowledgeable, and wonderful with child. My rating has absolutely nothing to do with her care, which has always been thorough and attentive. Unfortunately, the overall experience at Dangond Pediatrics has been disappointing. Scheduling can be a challenge, and wait times are often excessive even with an appointment. Communication with the front office staff is inconsistent, and it's been difficult at times to get follow-up information or call backs in a timely manner. It's frustrating because the medical care itself is solid, but the administrative side of the practice really takes away from the overall experience. I hope the practice makes improvements, because families deserve both great doctors and smooth, reliable support from the rest of the team.
Do not be fooled by the good reviews. The bad reviews are realistic to what you’ll likely experience here. Every time I took my son here with or without an appointment we had to wait an hour or more to be seen. Parking is also an issue. But the main reason why I give this place one star and never returned was because Dr. Dangond lacks bedside manner and was incredibly rude when speaking about my child during one of the follow up appointments. My son had to be about a year and half or so and as Dr. Dangond is examining him he starts to say “why isn’t your child speaking? Why doesn’t he know his body parts? He’s probably on the spectrum. I’m going to give you referrals so others can check him out.” As a first time mom with a small child that was heartbreaking to hear and especially in the manner in which it was delivered. Found an amazing pediatric office in Brickell that welcomed my son with open arms and he actually enjoys seeing his doctor. Stay clear of this office if you can.
Took my kid to this doctor's office the first time. It is clean, and the color theme is pretty nice. When I was there, at first there was no one, but in a little bit so many people with their babies showed up and the room became a little crowded. We waited about 40min to get inside, which was a bit too long. I'm sure the nurses and doctors have lots of experience dealing with crying babies. But I felt a little but uncomfortable when my kid was crying and the way they handled the situation. Maybe my expectation was too high after reading all the good reviews about this place, how nice and gentle the people are. The good thing about this place is that you can book the appointment online for established patients. We have another appointment coming up and will see if the experience will be different.
