Daniel designed our custom home in a gated community outside of Austin in the Hill Country. We were impressed with his architectural vision from the beginning at our initial site consultation. Throughout the design process Daniel was very generous with his time, which we did appreciate, and after 9 meetings ( 3 in person and 6 via zoom ) we had a fully developed architectural 3D model that we were able to review and study in meetings. It was very impressive how we could take the roof off of the 3D model and even collaborate on the interior design. The architectural model gave us every angle of the interior and the exterior. As we went through the design we were able to see and feel exactly how every aspect of the home is it connected to the site and the views. We were even able to merge the 3D views with pictures from the same location on the site to see exactly what the view out the window would be. We really didn't know before we start this process how it would go. This is our first time designing and building a custom home so there were a lot of concerns based on what we had heard some of our friends experience when dealing with architects in the area. We did call around to other architects and building designers before we started the process and I think we interviewed at least five architects. We felt the most comfortable with Daniel because of his one-on-one involvement working with clients and the fact that he only designs 10 homes a year. We worked directly with him in each and every meeting to do every little detail possible. We were very impressed at how responsive and attentive he was and the process seemed a lot simpler since every home he designs he works directly with the client 100% of the time. Some of the other architects we interviewed were more expensive and a couple were less expensive but what sold us on Daniel was his architectural portfolio as well as his passion and his perfectionistic nature. There were many things that he could have avoided talking about to say time but he was very thorough in all of his explanations and answered all of our questions very clearly and directly. It's a really good feeling now that we are all moved in and we're all comfortable and can enjoy the architecture of the natural light and the impressive Hill Country views.

5 star Architect for a reason! Daniel has an architectural approach that I believe people will find very rare and refreshing these days. He is very giving of his time, knowledge, and is the most collaborative of the 3 Architects we have used on the 2 other custom homes we have built. As an example, even before we signed a contract he made multiple site visits to give us his friendly professional insight about several lots we were considering before we selected the property we ultimately purchased. He was extremely accommodating and friendly throughout the entire process. Collaboration is his priority from the beginning and he made it very convenient through the use of screen share as we designed the home together. We were really impressed with the architectural 3D model that Daniel created. It was amazing that we were able to have a computer-generated 3D model to visualize the complete exterior as well as the outdoor entertaining, outdoor kitchen, and the pool and spa area. We were able to have the majority of our meetings in the evenings after we got off work and we even did a screen share to collaborate on our laptop while we were out of town visiting family. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about both the architectural and contractual aspects of building, but he seems to have a great instinct for what the client is looking achieve. He also had the desire to study alternatives and create several layouts that might make the most sense for the lifestyle we described. Our custom home is amazing and we would definitely recommend him to our friends. We enjoyed the process of the architectural design of our custom home and even more surprisingly we enjoyed the building process that is often stressful. Instrumental in our smooth building process was Daniel's custom home building budget that he accurately laid out from the beginning giving us many options and associated costs. Daniel's project management and selection of the builder really took confusion out of the process and stress off of our lap. Other critical details that made build successful was his guidance and assistance with the interior design, kitchen, and bath design, and selection of all of our interior finishes and fixtures. Our kitchen and bathrooms really stand out with exceptional design and are friends always comment and take tips for how they can improve their residential architecture. All in all the 3% that he charged to be a complete steward of our project was an easy decision. We will definitely be using him in the future and so will our friends that are very impressed with our the result as well as our highly detailed and accurate design and building process.

We have lived in our home for a year and a half now, I meant to write this review sooner but the upside to the delay is that we now truly appreciate and understand how well our home is designed. From the initial meeting at the site that was complimentary we knew that we were in good hands with Daniel. The entire process was a positive experience from the initial budgeting stages, to the many rounds of layouts that we looked at, to floor plans, renderings, construction documents, and then finding the perfect contractor to work with. Daniel was attentive and inventive working with our ideas to make the project magical. Daniel stayed with us through the completion of the construction making sure that the contractor executed the drawings and our vision. He also helped up with the critical interior design putting special details into the bathrooms and the kitchen. The indoor spaces flow connectively and instinctively into the outdoor spaces. Our family couldn't be happier. A pleasure to work with and highly recommended!

We had an interesting time trying to find the right Architect in Austin during the covid and post covid times since demand peaked with historically low interest rates. We know it would be difficult to estimate construction costs and navigate city regulations. We called quite a few architecture firms but their price was very high and typically a percentage of the construction cost which seems to always go up in their favor. Daniel gave us a flat rate and did the entire architectural package for half of the other quotes we received. Daniel was responsive and impressed us with his ability to accommodate various architectural curveballs and changes in the project. The designs he came up with captured and expressed everything we need and want. Every detail we desired was explored and incorporated into our new custom home. I could not be more please with my decision to use Daniel Boardman as the architect on our home. He was engaging, patient, and my spouse was very pleased with his responses to our many questions. He was reliable throughout the entire process, but specifically to give us invaluable advice throughout the entire construction process. I fully recommend him without reservation to our friends and business partners looking for an architect on a new custom home.
