We came here for dinner and had a wonderful meal! We ordered the stuffed whole calamari to start, and we got the rigatoni carbonara and the ziti with broccoli rabe and sweet Italian sausage as mains. We finished our meal with the tiramisu and the Italian cream cake with rum. We thought the Italian cream cake lacked rum flavor, but everything was delicious overall! Our favorites were the calamari and the carbonara. The service was quick and friendly, and we would definitely come back to try other items on their menu!

This was an old time restaurant. The history of the restaurant was fascinating. Large portions of food. Pricing was average. Atmosphere nice to talk and also to be romantic if so wished. They did not have chicken marsala on their menu but they made it for me. I must say the marsala was the best that I have had. Parking was the only negative. We ended up having to valet park for $19.

A second birthday celebration. The service was great from.the moment we stepped in. Our waiter Aarond was amazing, we started we cocktails vs wine. I described how I like my bourbon and it exceeded my expectations. The caesar salad was perfect ratio of greens and dressing. Crispy calamari rings with marinara. The other salad was houe salad. We were appetizers and salad in timely manner. Our entrees ziti w broccoli rabe and Italian sausage and 2nd entree was a seafood medley lobster tails, mussels, clams on top of linguine with a spicy sauce. We opted to do one dessert, chocolate cream cheese cannoli. Everyting was delicious. Authentic Italian food with a wide selection of traditional dishes. The restaurant offered perfect ambiance for dinner for two.

Dante & Luigi’s is truly a piece of Philadelphia history, and you can feel that the moment you walk in. The service was a perfect 10/10. We called to change our reservation last minute, and they still managed to squeeze us in with zero attitude just kindness. Throughout the night, two staff members were always nearby, explaining the menu and making us feel taken care of. It really elevated the experience. The dishes overall were great, but a couple really stood out. The Carbonara was one of the best I’ve had in my entire life rich, flavorful, perfectly done. The lasagna was also exceptional. We tried the seafood pasta, which was good, though I think it could’ve been executed just a bit better. We also ordered mussels, and those were fantastic fresh and packed with flavor. The vibe was lively but comfortable. It felt like an older crowd overall, but there were definitely younger diners as well. The atmosphere reflects the restaurant’s long history I believe it’s one of the city’s oldest Italian spots and that classic charm is part of what makes the place special.

One of the oldest original Italian restaurants in Philadelphia. Known for its wide variety of Italian specialties, some of the best ‘gravy’ in Pennsylvania! Located in the heart of South Philly, this corner restaurant has been around for over 100 years. I would highly recommend reservations, and you must take advantage of their parking valet. Come hungry, and you will not be disappointed!
