I really love this place, and Anton is truly exceptional. He’s not just a hairstylist, he’s a master.🤟 I come once a month, and it’s honestly the best haircut in the city every single time. Everything is precise, thoughtful, and very well executed. He really understands the shape of my face, and the result always looks sharp and polished. I’ve tried so many places, and nothing compares. This is the best one, and Anton is absolutely the best there.
When I moved to San Rafael in September 2025, I was worried that I wouldn’t find another stylist as talented as Paul Michael at Pixiedot in San Diego, with whom I’d built a relationship over 4 years. I got incredibly lucky on my first try with Kelly Maureen at the David James Salon on B Street in downtown San Rafael. I’ve seen her 3 times now (short hair needs a lot of upkeep), and she’s been amazing every time. I love the results, and it also feels good to spend time with Kelly. She has a very uplifting energy. Also, David James himself is fantastic and has created a very cool vibe for his salon. I love his Clay product. It smells great and adds just the right amount of definition to my style. If you have a short cut or are interesting in going short, book with Kelly at David James. I’m confident that you’ll like the outcome.
I’ve been a client of Megan’s for about five years and while there are so many reasons I continue to go back, there are two that really stand out: First, is her exceptional quality in execution - Megan’s technique is so solid, my red hair consistently comes out better than I could ever imagine. She knows how to evaluate what I want, assess what my hair can do, and executes a color that works for me! My color looks amazing from day one through my next appointment because it settles in the most beautiful way that only an accomplished professional can achieve. Also, her approachability is real - Megan is just a good human. She is someone I always look forward to seeing, is easy to be around, and allows me to be my authentic self. If you are looking for someone new to work with your hair, you should absolutely reach out to Megan and do a consultation. You won’t be disappointed!

She understands blonding on a level that feels almost intuitive, and she always gets the tone and brightness exactly right without compromising the health of my hair. Every appointment is easy, relaxed, and efficient, and I leave feeling like my hair has never looked better. If you’re looking for a master colorist who genuinely knows what she’s doing, Megan is the one. Five stars without hesitation.
I've had my fair share of salon visits, but Sydney is one of those rare stylists who just gets it. She's clearly talented, but also takes the time to listen, explain, and make sure you feel great throughout the whole process. It honestly seems like doing hair is second-nature to her. I always walk out not just loving my hair, but actually enjoying the experience start to finish! Couldn't recommend her more!
