A great atmosphere to spend time with your friends. The margaritas are delicious. Ithan even made some non-alcoholic drinks for my daughters.
Went to Desperados Cantina for the first time tonight in Distillery District. I was always skeptical about going there to eat because everytime I’m in distillery district this place is a ghost town. People walk right by and don’t even blink an eye at it. My birria tacos, PHENOMENAL. Chorizo queso, PHENOMENAL. The churro, warm, crispy, to die for. I don’t know how this place isn’t buzzing!!!!!
This classy establishment has a great location and friendly service, but the food quality didn't match the price point, with mixed results. While the pork belly taco and elote were decent, the birria tacos were disappointingly bland, and its accompanying consommé was a greasy butter (should be beef juice from the meat) and lacked proper seasoning. The restaurant should consider revising its birria recipe. I mentioned the birria taco issue to the staff and they brought out another container, hoping it would be a better experience. It wasn't, being just more of the same.
We really enjoyed our visit at Desperados Cantina located in the Distillery District. They have what seems to be the largest tequila selection in town! Not only do they serve great cocktails, but their tacos are so good. I highly recommend the hot pepper chicken taco and the pork belly taco. They also have a nice patio right next to a creek with a beautiful fireplace. Highly recommended!
This was our first stop of the day and it was fantastic! 2 for 1 margarita special was great! I got the spicey mango margarita and it was perfect. We got the chips and salsa and our server picked great salsas for us. Atmosphere was laid back and wonderful. Bartender was friendly and upbeat. Loved the place!
