Digital 8 was supposed to deliver a cutting edge website and app for a company I worked for. We spent over $250K with them, and the delivery was abysmal. All we ever got was: 1. A shell of a drupal website which I ended up having to populate MYSELF, and 2. An "app" that was basically just a mobile version of the website. Every time I raised concerns about the progress of the project, I was dismissed with excuses about staff turn over, or told that "all of that will come later". When we got more serious about our concerns, the sales person took us out to lunch and gave a "friendly warning" that the boss was well connected and would have the means to drag out any court proceedings until the bitter end, so it "wouldn't be worth our time or money"—Even though at this point we had not even considered taking legal action! Eventually we had to cut our losses and I rebuilt the website myself on Wordpress. Over a quarter of a million dollars just for us to end up worse than we began. Dealing with Digital 8 was hands down the worst experience of my professional career.

I had a truly shocking experience dealing with Digital8 when I approached them to redesign and rebuild my company website last year. In the beginning, everything seemed to be under control. I provided the brief and was explicitly clear about wanting to completely rebuild the entire website. Design, build, everything. I was quoted just shy of $15,000, confirmed a few things with the team and upon accepting the quote, everything went downhill from there. Firstly, they made no communication with me for almost a month from getting started and paying the 30% deposit. I provided all the info requested and their invoices flowed quickly from there. I had 2x invoice payments requested within the first month and not 1 piece of actual work was supplied, until I followed up and queried what was going on they had pretty much just forgotten about me after getting paid. My project was a hot potato around the company, and I recall dealing with up to 5x different people in total towards the end. No one seemed to take ownership of exactly what was going on. The brief itself was very clear, and very simple. Nothing too extreme as far as design requirements, yet they still managed to fumble that and did not deliver what I had asked for. The design guidelines I received was approx. $5000 poorly executed set of guidelines and severely overpriced in my opinion. So I made my feelings clear to them and had a very rude “project manager” provide some pretty rude responses to me about the process and my expectations ... The worst part was dealing with the Director who assured me they could get the project back on track…. Well, all she eventually confirmed was that the $15,000 did not include the actual website build, and that would be an added cost. I was abundantly clear with them at the start about wanting them to build the site and to provide a turnkey solution with regards to our web upgrades. When I wanted a face-to-face meeting with the director and the original 2 duds I dealt with providing the breif who promised the they could easily deliver what I wanted, they turned around and said there was no need for the meeting. They just shewed me away and simply did not want to face up to their absolute trainwreck of customer project management. Long story short, DO NOT USE DIGITAL 8 EVER for web design and building services. I deeply regret ever having chosen to proceed with them and I would strongly urge other business owners to avoid them at all costs. TERRIBLE experience overall 1/10
I highly recommend Digital8 for their web design, app development and SEO services. Their team is very professional but at the same time easy to talk to.
The client support from Digital 8 was superb, they were extremely helpful in the process of planning for the website. Although this was not the company I chose to create our website, I will be recommending Digital 8 company to my colleagues. Particularly Tim, who was very fast to respond to emails and delightful to speak to over the phone.
