Courtney M is fabulous!!! I absolutely love the way she styled my hair! You can tell she has loads of experience and impeccable skill! She was so fast I couldn’t believe it! And so kind and fun! My best hair styling session at Dry Bar so far! Thank you Courtney!
Stephanie and Bianca have both done a great job on my hair! Thank you Drybar.
Making the appointment was easy. Stylist was right on time. I saw Bianca. She was pleasant to talk to, made my appointment fun and relaxing. My hair looked great and it has lasted for the whole weekend looking fabulous. I had my hair washed, blow out and styled into waves.
Was trying to be polite. Was planning to leave a $0 tip for the frizz (and the way my kitchen was still damp!). Instead, said "thank you" to stylist. Did not complain. Left 10% (reluctantly). Now enters Mia. Who pressed that I should really leave 20% since my hair took extra 15mins over 45mins. M'kay. I explained that a 20% tip is not customary at all, it's discretionary. But I'm happy to pay the 5/$6 extra for extended time. She said something about how when she does facepainting in Brentwood they slide her $300 for a $200 job. M'kay, goofy. Go hustle those clowns instead, then. Again, still wanted to keep it discreet and not complain about the fuzziness in person. But this girl was doing the most. I wanted to see if she would keep going with her campaign. I finally give her permission to charge an extra few dollars to shut her up. It's worth noting: I requested Louise or Tiffany in my notes, but they weren't there. Previously, Bianca styled me (when my notes were ignored). Also not there today. I won't mention the name of today's stylist as I think they did their best. Maybe they were rushing. Maybe they just don't handle wavy hair types well (which all stylists should be able to do). Only being able to style limp straight hair is hardly a skill. I think what's important here is if 1) someone leaves a 0%, 10% or 20% tip with no complaint...be quiet and process the transaction, 2) you aren't the stylist, 3) didn't read the notes, 4) don't want to get into a debate about mediocre skills, and 5) aren't prepared to fix the fuzziness...definitely be quiet. Making people of different ethnicities or hair types feel like their hair is problematic is nasty work. Only being able to do limp, thin hair is the actual problem that needs to be addressed when staffing. Tips are for exceptional performance, not for basic participation. I don't expect Drybar to style me like the Dominicans or deliver a proper silk press; I just want to walk out not looking like a volunteer did my hair. My standards aren't sky high, here. God forbid I actually had super curly hair or a thick afro. Sometimes the juice ain't worth the squeeze. You can talk yourself and your employer right out of a positive encounter. Count it a blessing when someone walks out without complaining. Don't assume it's because you ate. Now excuse me while I go touch up this mess.
If I could leave a negative review I would. Got a major burn on my forehead while getting my hair done at the Brentwood location. The staff was unapologetic about it,rude, mean and I have been threatened. Reached out the main company which is not willing to cooperate and reimburse the medical bills even. If you are a professional looking for experienced hair stylist not just part time ( not even sure insured or licensed ) workers avoid this place/ chain.Taking legal actions moving forward
