Hot water continued flowing directly onto my face, burning my scalp. The stylist, Dani, then attempted to pressure me into booking her privately outside of Drybar, which I declined. Once seated in her chair, I clearly explained that I am sensitive to excessive pulling. Despite this, she began detangling my hair aggressively without using any detangler, then proceeded to blow-dry my hair roughly. She moved on to flat-ironing my hair using excessive heat and burned the back of my neck in the process. When I asked her not to do that again, she dismissed my concern, told me I was over-exaggerating, and slammed the flat iron onto the counter. It fell to the floor, narrowly missing my legs. At that point, I stood up immediately. Three incidents were more than enough to show a complete disregard for my safety and the care of my hair. It felt clear that she was eager to move on to the next client—a customer of a different cultural background—whom she spoke to and treated with noticeably more respect than she did me. I then spoke with the store manager to cancel my subscription and was told it could not be canceled for three months. On July 28, 2025, I sent a formal email—including the store manager and corporate contacts—requesting cancellation. To date, no one has followed up, and my subscription has not been canceled. I have continued to be charged $45 every month through February 2026. I will be taking this matter further. I am beyond dissatisfied and deeply disappointed by the lack of care, professionalism, and basic customer service—particularly toward customers of color, myself included. I do not recommend Drybar- especially this location.
I’ve been to this Drybar location several times before and have always had good experiences, which is why today’s visit was so disappointing. As I was at the counter about to leave, my stylist, Angel, said something to another stylist. The other stylist then looked directly at me and laughed. I don’t know what was said, but the interaction felt unprofessional and made me uncomfortable as a customer. When I got home, I also noticed that my hair wasn’t completely straight. That part is on me for not fully checking before leaving, but I was uncomfortable in the chair and honestly just ready to be done. I did call the salon afterward, and I want to give credit where it’s due — the manager was kind, remembered me, and even mentioned that she had noticed the style wasn’t correct and wanted to stop me before I left. She refunded my service, which I appreciated. I’ve had good experiences here in the past and hope this feedback helps prevent something like this from happening again.
Best Drybar I have been to! Jasmine is INCREDIBLE. She took her time and cared deeply. I love love love the way it turned out.
I went to the Drybar in Midtown Atlanta and had a really nice experience. The place is modern, chic, and has a very welcoming vibe. The staff were super friendly and professional right from the moment I walked in. My stylist really listened to what I wanted, gave suggestions that suited me, and delivered exactly the look I was hoping for. The blowout was smooth, shiny, and lasted for days, which is impressive given the humidity in Atlanta. They also use great-smelling products that feel light but effective. The atmosphere feels relaxed yet lively, with upbeat music and a clean setup. It’s definitely a spot worth checking out if you want a quick refresh before an event or just to treat yourself. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality and service make it worthwhile.
Honestly, Drybar gets the job done. Simple, efficient, and no fuss. As someone with natural hair, I was initially skeptical, but every stylist I’ve worked with has handled my texture with ease and confidence. I also really appreciate the little touches like offering tea or wine and validating parking. It is the convenience and consistency for me. Always a smooth experience.
