Got the prime rib and it was good. It's the same quality as their other locations like steak 44. This is must if you're in downtown area. The best steakhouse in the downtown area by far. They have a crème corn that's to die for. The new ownership has turned this place around. I wasn't a fan of the old Durants. If you weren't a fan before you will be now.
My experience at Durant’s was mixed. For context, I’ve been to Prime Steak Concepts restaurants around ten times, so I’m familiar with the style and expectations. From the beginning, the service was very good, and the pacing of the meal felt right throughout the night. The atmosphere is classic and cool—dark, old-school steakhouse vibes. Entering through the kitchen was a little odd at first, but it’s unique and adds to the character of the place. The appetizers were the strongest part of the meal. The crispy shrimp and deviled eggs were both very good and stood out positively. The main courses were disappointing. The steaks were significantly undercooked, off by roughly two temperature levels, which is hard to overlook at a steakhouse. The chop salad and mushrooms were also underwhelming and didn’t add much to the meal. I didn’t say anything at the time about the steaks because I had already mentioned an issue with my drink and felt embarrassed to complain again—though, in hindsight, I probably should have. The drinks were fine but unremarkable, though one was comped by our server, which was appreciated. Dessert was excellent. The ice cream cookie cake was easily the best part of the meal and a strong finish. Overall, I wouldn’t return until there’s more consistency coming out of the kitchen, particularly with steak preparation. The service and atmosphere are solid, but the food didn’t fully deliver this time.

Durants 2.0 is a success… I felt like I was in the old Durants but a fresh vibe. The new owners did a thoughtful job on the remodeling for functionality and ambiance. The service was impeccable from moment of entry to departure with attention to detail on everything from making sure glasses were full, crumbs were removed, quality of food was to our expectation, personable and just the right amount of check-ins where you didn’t feel like they were hovering. The food was spectacular- seasoned, portion sizes and temperature were on point. Menu paid homage to some classic items while adding new ones. It was a wonderful experience throughout the evening and I can only hope future guest have the same experience. Chef’s Kiss to the entire staff and management.
Where to begin? This establishment lives up to its reputation, offering an exceptional dining experience. The service is impeccable, and the food is simply divine. The prime rib was the highlight of my meal, surpassing any I have had throughout the United States. The vodka sauce pasta was cooked to perfection, and the pepper flakes, which could have been added to the sauce, are provided on the side. The strawberry shortcake is a must-try and truly unforgettable. The wine selection is exceptional, and the after-dinner drinks provide a perfect conclusion to a memorable evening.
