The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and answered any question I had. Maybe it’s the timing of when I went there, but their selection of tosai and nisai were disappointing. I found a few quality young koi in another larger section but the asking price ended up being higher than fair. I will come back after their Japan trip and maybe selection will be better.
We lost 2 koi that were over 12 years old in 2 weeks. They appeared totally healthy but died suddenly without trauma or visible disease. We tried various measures to save the others in the pond, and talked to numerous people . Finally I called kelvin just as he was closing on a Friday evening. He identified the disease as fin rot via our post mortem photos and advised treatment . Not only did he advise but he left the treatment out for us to come and get immediately. He would have stayed after hours but apologized for having a commitment. He obviously trusted us and didn’t even make a big deal about payment. I am happy to report that at this time we have not had any more deaths . Thank you again Kelvin you went above and beyond 🙏🏽
They have a large selection of very pretty koi. Prices are reasonable. We purchased 3, and some food. A very pleasant experience. The koi seem happy in our pond.

I’m building a koi pond and the folks at east bay koi shared a wealth of knowledge to help me get started; details for building a pond, installing filtration, Uv sanitation, skimmers, pumps, drains, establishing and maintaining healthy bacteria, aeration and understanding the ammonia/ nitrite/ nitrate cycle. They have an incredible selection of koi at different sizes and price points and a wonderful selection of aquatic plants. They even provide consultations and will do design builds in your home. The owner has clearly been passionate about koi for a long time and is willing to share details about creating healthy koi environments. He was kind, patient and helped me create a beautiful pond. We’re lucky to have this resource in the Bay Area!
Dropped by this establishment today to look at a replacement koi. This place sells real Japanese koi. You can yell from the shape of the body and the bright color pattern. And of course, the prices are much higher than the ones you find in regular store. For a 6" koi, the price is $85.00 and the price will go up based on the size and the species of koi. Oh, they also sell aquatic plants, fish foods, koi ponds equipments, and etc. I suggest you call ahead and make an appointment because some of their kois need to be "quarantined" before they will sell them to you. I was told I need to go back next week to pick up the fish I chose.
