Traveled in from Cleveland to spend the weekend in Pittsburgh and so happy that we had decided to make a reservation at Eddie Merlot’s for tonight! Not only was the food very tasty, but our server, Ed (Kapron), was really amazing! He went out of his way to make our first dining experience there (and I say “first” because I’m pretty sure there will be a second!) a really wonderful and memorable one. Highly recommended for all visitors to Pittsburgh!

A Perfect Evening at Eddie Merlots (Pittsburgh, PA) From start to finish, our recent dinner at Eddie Merlots in Pittsburgh was nothing short of spectacular - truly earning every one of these five stars. If you are looking for an upscale dining experience where the food is impeccable and the service is truly personalized, this is the place to go. We started our culinary journey with the Seafood Tower, which was an absolute work of art. The presentation was stunning, and the quality of the chilled shellfish, oysters, and shrimp was pristine and incredibly fresh. Following that, the Warm Seafood Appetizer Plate offered a delightful contrast, featuring savory, perfectly seasoned crabcakes, setting the stage for the main course. But the highlight of the evening, without a doubt, was the steak. We ordered a variety of cuts, and each one was prepared to absolute perfection. The steaks were genuinely mouthwatering, perfectly cooked, and melted in your mouth—flavorful, tender, and expertly seasoned. What elevated the experience from great to exceptional was the incredible service provided by our server, Chanel. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and demonstrated a level of care that is rarely seen. We casually mentioned our love for true southern sweet tea, and to our amazement, Chanel took it upon herself to brew a fresh batch of Southern sweet tea specifically for our table. That gesture alone encapsulates the personalized, amazing service she provided throughout the entire meal. Eddie Merlots, thank you for a memorable evening. We will absolutely be back, and we'll be asking for Chanel!

Lunch was awful. The restaurant was not that busy today. However, my salmon, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich that was supposed to be served with garlic alio was subpar. And I'm being generous! The bun was burnt, the lettuce was wilted, the avocado was gray, garlic alio was almost missing, way too much onion and the salmon overcooked. No one was attentive to our table and we sat there with dry water glasses for a half an hour. And that was waiting for our check. I always thought that this restaurant was supposed to be a very nice place to eat, but far from it. I've had better service at Houlihans. If I were running the kitchen, I certainly would not serve what I was given here. I don't think I will ever come back here! Where is your quality control in your kitchen? Where is your training for your servers?

Stumbled upon this restaurant on our walk, they took us right in and seated us! Very beautiful interior, wonderful staff all around. Everyone from the hosts, waiters and wait staff were all friendly and attentive! My husband and I thought the food was out of this world good! We had the ahi wontons, my husband had a salad an I had the crab soup to start. The soup was some of the best I've ever had. Everything had such vreta flavors. We each had a cocktail as well, which were both great. I had the chimichurri steak and shrimp which was incredible, and my husband had waygu with lobster. All excellent. The carrot cake was huuuuge and amazing! Our server Matthew was so friendly and attentive. He was such a calm and delightful server, and gave us some Pittsburgh places to visit! We already can't wait to come back!! I didn't get many meal photos because I was too busy enjoying the meal. We will not forget this dinner!

We had such a wonderful experience at dinner tonight! Our server, Sara, was absolutely amazing so friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out perfectly timed. The service was flawless, and the food was incredible from start to finish. Every detail was spot on, and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
