This place is awesome! Our waiter Jeff took the time to educate us and explain tons of the menu items including all of his favorites. He also was great on asking if we had any dietary restrictions or allergies. We took his advice on his fav menu items (get the octopus!) and everything was so delicious! This place deserves all the recognition! Definitely a MUST try!!

This unpretentious, casual restaurant offers superb Mexican food in a relaxed atmosphere. They specialize in presenting authentic dishes from various areas of Mexico using the freshest of ingredients. The Kaaxil Sikil soup, with pepita (pumpkin seed) dumplings, was delicious, and practically a meal in itself. The scallops in white chocolate mole were superb. Also, I appreciated the very friendly and attentive staff. I wish Alaska wasn't so far away so that I could visit Saint Louis more often and sample more of these gourmet dishes that are offered at moderate prices. Do not hesitate - enjoy a satisfying meal at this unassuming place.

Unique dishes Yucatán style! April was our awesome server. I had the Relleno Negro. The Cayo de Hacha en Mole Blanco was amazing also but the standout dish was the Tamal Colado appetizer. Definitely check it out for something different than the standard Mexican fare. I’d say the gold standard.

I can't say enough good things about El Molino. It is, without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in St. Louis. If it was in downtown Chicago, you'd NEVER be able to get in. You really can't go wrong with ordering, but I think the octopus cooked in its own ink is a must. This is modern and traditional food from the Yucatan, stuff you've never had anywhere else.

I would recommend this place to anybody who needs to be gluten free as they have a completely dedicated gluten-free kitchen. If you want authentic, this place has it and it is really good with lots of different choices. The bathrooms are large and accessible, the bar has a beautiful atmosphere and plenty of seating. They have plenty of seating, staff are very attentive. I never ran out of water, or ice for my other drinks, they are also very knowledgeable about their menu and if you tell them what your specific diet is, what might be the most go-to option or which ones to avoid. I have not sat down in a restaurant and had that great of service in a long time and so it was refreshing. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well if it's a nice day, If you go to St. Louis, this is a must-go-to spot.
