Great ambience and a brilliant selection of meats. The salad buffet was amazing with plenty of choice and very well presented. The only downside was at the front desk — we weren’t asked if we wanted to place our coat in the cloakroom, so it ended up being in the way at our table. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, though it did feel a little on the pricier side for what was offered.
To begin on a positive note, the reception team were excellent. They located our booking promptly, took our coats, and showed us to our table efficiently and warmly. Our waitress was also very friendly and attentive, guiding us through the menu and offering a helpful recommendation on a bottle of red wine, which we enjoyed. Unfortunately, from that point onwards the experience did not quite meet the standard we’ve come to expect from Fazenda. While some of the meat servers were perfectly pleasant, others were difficult to understand, often mumbling to the point where we had to ask repeatedly what was being offered. Portion sizes were consistently very small, and in many cases both myself and my partner were served mostly fatty outer cuts. Even when requesting a leaner piece, the result was still disappointing. One of my favourite dishes is the pork collar with honey. On the first occasion it reached our table, we were left with very overcooked, dry scraps. The second time, the server bypassed our table entirely. I asked another server if it could be brought over, which he kindly agreed to do, but when it did appear, it was delivered to another table and then taken away. In terms of the meal overall, the Market Hall was noticeably improved compared to our last visit, which was good to see. The only thing we felt was missing was some crusty bread or something similar to accompany the cheeses. The sides were enjoyable, particularly the Parmesan fries, garlic mushrooms, and the sweet potato with feta. However, many of the meats that were served appeared extremely underdone. While I appreciate Fazenda cooks meat medium to medium-rare, some cuts looked almost raw. I have attached a photo as a reference. My partner, who does not enjoy rare meat, found this particularly off-putting and said it made her feel unwell. The gammon was quite rubbery, the chicken thighs lacked flavour, and flank steak was offered repeatedly. At no point were we asked if there was anything we would like returned specifically, which has been offered on previous visits and would have been appreciated here. Overall, we left feeling disappointed and somewhat disheartened, particularly given the price point. Unfortunately, it didn’t feel like the value matched the experience on this occasion.
This is the best place for a work christmas meal! I thoroughly enjoyed the service of selecting your choice of meat and the professionalism the waiters had throughout. The salad bar, the truffle fries and the chocolate truffles desserts were also a great treat!
I had a great experience at Fazenda in Birmingham. The restaurant has a classy atmosphere and the food was genuinely impressive. They come around with a wide range of meats — different cuts of steak like rump, sirloin, T-bone, and even mint lamb — all cooked beautifully and full of flavour. The service was just as good as the food. The staff were professional throughout, and one member of the team, Chetan, really stood out. He was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better.
A stunningly amazing dining experience! In every aspect this was special. The chefs table is stunning and fresh. As a carnivore having finished a 42 hour fast this was epic! The steak was interesting being that the most tender were the rump cuts and the more expensive cuts were tougher. Value for money! Amazing staff! Never to be forgotten!
