I got my hair done by Lauren for my wedding, and I loved it. She prioritized my wishes to have minimal product, and still made my hair very beautiful and secure. She is really kind and great to work with, and I highly recommend Lauren.
Lauren is amazing. I have wavy curly hair, and it's been tricky to find some one who knows how to cut it. I had some pretty specific requests, and she delivered on all fronts. She started our appointment with a consultation, asking me about my preferences and really seeking to understand what I wanted in terms of shape and day-to-day. This is the first time in many years that I've loved my hair cut -- and fwiw I've gone to upscale salons (and random salons) throughout SF, SoCal, and DC. I'm planning to just go to Lauren from now on. She was also super nice and friendly. The salon is sooo cute, and the neighborhood is great too. Highly recommend
Melody is the nail tech I’ve been searching for! I got my nails junked out with rhinestones, rose quarts and dangles and two weeks later they are still going strong. It is crazy how hard it is to find a clutch nail tech in Oakland but melody turns it tf out. So happy!!
I should have left a review years ago but I'm the queen of procrastination! I went to Lauren Corden when I moved to Oakland from SF, even though I liked my previous hairdresser, I couldn't justify the amount of time it took me to get there, so the search for a new hairdresser began. I was at the beginning of my natural curly hair journey (after straightening it for +10 years) so I was very worried I wouldn't find the right person, I was worried I wouldn't feel confident and pretty again by letting my natural hair be. Well, the stars aligned because Lauren was amazing and since that first haircut on 2016, I have been a loyal customer. She's got that magic ability of cutting your hair exactly the way you ask for but also giving you an amazing haircut when you don't know exactly what you want — in both cases, your hair looks stunning! I always look forward to my appointment with Lauren, not only my hair receives a big dose of TLC and I feel beautiful when I leave the salon, I also have a great time chatting with Lauren (and I'm an introvert) she's so much fun and interesting, she's truly an artist. ~ I'd also like to mention, when I started going to Fig & Clover it was in their previous location which was very cute and cozy, they moved to a new location down the street and Ari, the owner (who is also a hairdresser, is super nice and has gorgeous hair) did a great job at preserving the same cozy feels even with a bigger space (which is not easy to do). I've also had gel manicures by Melody and Sam and both are so gentle, creative and talented!
I've been going to fig & clover to get my nails done by Melody for about 6 months now and I am forever hooked. Melody is not only professional, kind, clean and covid safe but she's also a blast to hang out with! She always manages to make appointments fun and is super willing to add a little tiny something to make your manicure feel unique and special. Whether you're getting one of her custom herbal pedicures or extra long (extra sharp!) aprés gel extensions you will always leave fig & clover feeling pampered. 💅💕
