Andrea is the best trainer I have ever encountered; she is so patient with our dogs, smart, competent, and funny to top it all off :) our dogs love her & are always so excited to see her at the house or the facility! She really understands dogs and has improved my understanding of them as well. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone; my older dog’s leash reactivity has gotten so much more manageable, and I honestly didn’t think it ever would. Andrea’s compassionate approach has done more for our dogs than any trainer we tried working with in the past & my only regret is that she wasn’t the first trainer we contacted! We have also taken our dogs to agility with Karissa at the facility & she is also amazing. I don’t think you could go wrong with anyone here :)
Karissa was a godsend! She was patient, kind and effective. Our terrier is so sweet but is a terrier—very strong willed and had reactive issues. Our vet recommended training. Karissa met her where she was and built a positive and trustworthy relationship. She met us at our home and then out in public so we could practice in real life settings—making us confident walking and socializing our puppy. Can’t recommend Freak on a Leash and Karissa enough. Professional, positive, organized and really got to know our puppy. At the end of our 6 session package we gained a trained puppy and a friend in Karissa. We will continue on from puppy training to agility in person at the Freak on a Leash training facility.
From the initial call, to meeting Cate for the first time, to then building our training plan; my husband and I were impressed by the overall professionalism, customer service, and friendliness from Freaks on a Leash. We have 2 dogs, both rescues, adopted at different times with different behavioral issues. Every session with Cate gave us a new technique and a very detailed understanding of the how and why. She worked with us with both dogs addressing our every concern even to our very last session. It was bittersweet when we had our last session but it was a celebration of how far we all came as pet parents and especially our furbabies. We are finally able to have stress free walks and we are all much more stronger in our bond. We continue with the training and both pups get better and better each day. THANK YOU CATE! You're patience and knowledge helped not only us, but our furkids as well to truly grow and mature. I will definitely recommend Freaks on the Leash for training needs, yall are the best.
Andrea is truly exceptional! My sweet Cane Corso, Eve, struggles with fear‑based aggression. At over 160 pounds, this was overwhelming for everyone — including me and Eve. Andrea created a thoughtful, effective behavior modification program that has helped ease Eve’s fear and anxiety (and mine!). Along the way, I’ve learned so much from Andrea's guidance, and the bond between me and Eve has grown deeper than I ever imagined. I’m so grateful to Andrea and Freak on A Leash for giving us the tools, confidence, and direction we needed for a life well lived with an amazing dog who I will cherish forever. Thank you Andrea for all you do for us!
We had an excellent experience with Karissa. She truly took the time to tailor the training to each individual dog in the class—including my puppy, who struggles with anxiety and is fearful of just about everything. Her patient, compassionate approach made a world of difference. The trainer used only positive reinforcement and never relied on punishment, which helped build trust and confidence in both the dogs and the owners. I really appreciated the supportive environment and how she adapted to meet every dog where they were. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a kind, knowledgeable, and effective trainer! We will be signing up for more classes!
