We went here for choreography for our wedding first dance. We purchased 2 back-to-back lessons and were hoping that we would just have those two lessons to give us some basic steps and just a few fancier moves to add in like some of our married friends' experiences. Our lesson went well, outlining basic steps that went along with our song. However, afterward, we were taken into a private room for a 'meeting', where we were firmly pressured to spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on a larger package that would make our first dance "perfect". Thankfully, we didn't budge on the larger packages even though we both were extremely uncomfortable, but we did regretfully agree to have our dance entirely choreographed by the studio for an extra $200. The choreography we received was very theatrical/not authentic to us and we ended not using anything except the basic moves we were taught in our first lesson and then used YouTube tutorials for some of the fancier moves were looking for. Beware that even though the first lesson is fairly affordable, they will try to pressure you into buying more.
We had such a great experience at Fred Astaire Dance Studio! Kay at the front desk was so kind and helpful, making us feel welcome right away. Our instructor, Judy, had amazing energy and made the lesson so much fun. Our 12-year-old had an incredible time learning to dance -- we can't wait to come back!
Absolutely LOVE this place! My fiancé and I are getting married in October, we decided that we wanted to take some lessons to get a choreographed song! Both of us are not dancers by any means, and we were actually pretty stressed out. We stumbled upon this place because my MIL got us two free tickets for complimentary dance lessons. We went in expecting to maybe take one or two lessons to check things out, and we immediately got hooked! It's so fun! Kelsey, is our dance instructor and she immediately made us feel extremely welcomed! She is incredibly talented, patient, and does a fantastic job explaining things that make sense for each part. Kelsey is also really flexible and can adapt to each dancer, she is great! We have only had about 8 lessons, and we already feel like pros! They also hold events for their dancers/ students and themed dance nights. We are going to check some more out after the wedding, and try to learn some different types of dances. Definitely check it out!
My husband and I took advantage of an intro deal to see if we could learn to dance. Thanks to our wonderful instructor, Judy, at the Glenn Heights Fred Astaire Dance Studio, we had so much fun and actually learned a few dance steps in the first 30 minutes! We signed up for a few more lessons to gain more confidence and the whole process was extremely clear, well-presented and professional. They have so many fun events and parties all year long, so there's plenty of practice time. We also received a military discount! We can't wait for our next lesson!
I can't say enough about Fred Astaire dancing class! Happy that my wife and I found this opportunity to go there. And our instructor Judy, Her energy lights up the room and her teaching style is both fun and super effective. Judy's passion for dance is contagious, making every class a joyful experience. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, she tailors her guidance to help you shine. Also all other staff are super nice and friendly. Highly recommend!
