Food is great, fresh and tasty. Service felt a little flat however it was quite busy and there seemed to be only two waitresses working from the looks of it. Recommend trying to mango marg and the frozen ones too. Only negative I have is the pricing is a little high for the portion sizes.. otherwise a really pleasant atmosphere and would come again! Parking around in the carpark just behind the restaurant is also free which is a bonus especially in Palmy!
Great food Margies are on point. Services to order is a tad slow BUT you can order from the table with a scan code. The owner did come and check on us during the night to ensure we were happy and everything was great. Love this place and def will go back as i do time and time again
We dined at Friday Sol on New Year’s Eve with an 8:00 pm reservation made weeks in advance and were extremely disappointed with the experience. From the moment we arrived, we were told the kitchen was about to close and were repeatedly rushed to order. Several menu items were unavailable, and staff insisted we order quickly, asking within minutes whether we had “enough food” due to the imminent closure. We were not informed prior to arrival that the kitchen would be closing early, nor that an 8:00 pm booking would not allow a full dining experience. All dishes arrived within approximately five minutes of ordering, strongly suggesting reheated food rather than freshly prepared meals. The quality reflected this — particularly the steak and fish tacos — and the rushed service left no opportunity to enjoy the evening. The venue began closing and cleaning around us, and we were effectively ushered out roughly 45 minutes after arrival, despite a two-hour booking. Most concerning, several members of our group became unwell later that night, with two guests vomiting and another sick for more than 24 hours. While causation cannot be proven, the condition and handling of the food raised serious concerns. Management later acknowledged staffing issues and offered a discount for a future visit, which we declined as we are not local. While the response was polite, the situation could have been avoided entirely with proactive communication and by not accepting reservations that could not be properly honoured. New Year’s Eve is a premium dining occasion, and this experience fell well below acceptable standards for service, food quality, and transparency. Unfortunately, we would not recommend Friday Sol based on this visit.
Waitresses were unfriendly and didn’t even bother smiling. We came here at 630pm on a Friday night, the food took awhile to be served. Nevertheless, food was pretty good - especially the barramundi fish tacos. May not come back again simply because service was average at best.
The place is gorgeous, great for taking photos. Food and drinks were really nice, loved the drink menu matrix as it was spot on. Favourite dish was the pulled pork tacos, they were smaller than expected (about the size of your hand) so I’d recommend getting multiple tacos. Service felt a little cold that night, but our waiter was still nice. Place was a little hard to find, you will need to go up the steps an the ground floor to reach the entrance, it will be the first one on the left.
